HE IS WITH ME
Greetings in the Name of Jesus!
A lot has been going on around here the past two weeks. Or you could say a lot has not been going on around here the past two weeks. Either way it is true!
Before I start I have to say that God is awesome and amazing and that by Jesus stripes we are healed.
Anyway, on February 1 I left to go to North Carolina to visit my Dad and my sister. My brother-in-law is working out of town so I had a wonderful visit with them. Not because he was out of town. Well, you know what I mean. My sister works so it was dad and me when she was at work.
Dad has been coughing on and off for several months, ever since he was in California and evacuated by the fires in Santa Rosa. He has sounded hoarse and hasn't felt that good. So, I was to leave for my 5 hour drive home on Tuesday. Dad was able to get in to see the doctor on Monday afternoon. I was able to take him although he said that he didn't need me to. Dr. saw him and we told him of dad's symptoms. One of them besides the coughing was the shortness of breath. Well, the dr. was thinking heart issues more than respiratory. So, he gave him nothing but told him he needed to see the heart dr. He was able to get in the next day to the see the heart dr. because of a cancellation. They are going to do a stress test and another test this week. But I do know that the arms of Jesus are around my dad and my sister also.
That night I didn't sleep good and I didn't feel that great. I woke up at 3 AM, couldn't go back to sleep, coughed alot, and finally got up and left at 7:30 in the morning. By the end of my 5 hour drive I was feeling pretty rough. On Wed. the 7th, my husband took me to the dr. to see if I had bronchitis and I tested positive for the flu. (2 days later he had it.)
The flu! Now where could I have gotten that? Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Lifeway Christian Store, my sister's house, my dad, Sandy Ridge Baptist Church on Sunday (where they actually have hospital hand sanitizer machines everywhere), or the McDonald's or gas station who knows where. Well, it doesn't really matter where I got it, I got it!
What does matter is that Jesus was with me the whole time. And even though I sometimes didn't feel like He was, He was. His hands were on my head when the cough aggravated the terrible headache I had. His arms were around me when I felt terrible. Jesus was praying to God for me every moment of me feeling bad. And I am so thankful He was!
Without His healing hand upon me I wouldn't be feeling better. I did say better. I am tired and weak and can't wait to get out of the house but I wouldn't be where I am today without my Jesus. MY LORD AND MY SAVIOR!
My dad and my sister did not get the flu. Of course, they both had flue shots. I had a most wonderful visit with them. And I am so thankful that God was with me when I drove home and I didn't feel that well. I praise His Holy Name!
So, when you go through something, no matter what it may be, God is with you.
Joshua 1:5 ESV “No man shall be able to stand
before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I
will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.”
Isaiah 53:5 KJV But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Psalm 139:5 NASB You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.
Psalm 91:4 NIV He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
I like to think of the feathers and wings of God as His arms around me. I do feel as though His arms are around me. And they are also around you!
Blessings!
Until next time!
