HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

Image
Good morning this New Year's Eve! I pray you have a blessed day! And that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice,  and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he  will give you many years in the land he swore to give  to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:20 Do we love the Lord our God as we should? Do we listen to His voice? Do we hold fast to Him? These things are the way we should live our lives. Do we do it? Do we really want to do it? Do we really care? If yes is the answer to all these things then we are trying to do it. Are we actually doing these things or trying to do them? I think that God knows our hearts and wants us to try really hard. We are not perfect and we may fail sometimes but at least try.    In the new year we really are going to need to do these things. Not only because we should but because the world we lives in calls for it. It is not going to be pretty and when we have the Lord to h

SHINE YOUR LIGHT

Image
Good morning on this blessed Sunday! Do you know that the sun has not shined here since before Christmas? It has been kind of dark and dreary and rainy for so long. But this morning I can see the blue sky. The sun hasn't come over the mountains yet but it will.   Have you ever felt kind of blue? I guess the dark and dreary days kind of make you feel that way. Where the bright sun perks you up and makes you happy, the dreary days kind of bring you down. Of course, with my back so sore, I have been kind of out of it. I can't do much at least not what I want to do. I can't twist and turn. Standing up hurts the least as I said another day. Sitting is sore, laying is sore. I didn't sleep well last night because I hurt and couldn't get comfortable. So, this morning I am kind of tired and groggy and just don't feel very well.  So, maybe blue I am. But do you know that Jesus is the Light of the world? He will lift me up. He will heal me in His time. He

DO NOT BE TROUBLED

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms;  if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going  there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare  a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with  me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3   Good morning to you! The year of 2012 is almost over. What are your plans for the last couple of days? What are your plans for the new year? Have you even thought about what your new year's resolutions might be? Do you even care? Have you asked God what His plans are?  Well, we know that we should not let our hearts be troubled. We shouldn't worry about these things. We should believe in God and also in Jesus. We also should know that God is preparing a place for us in Heaven and that He is going to come back and take us to where He is. How awesome is that? We should be looking forward to that with excitement and aw

HE STILL HEALS

Good morning to you on this beautiful day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! I slept in this morning for the first time in months and months. I woke up at 8 am. That is late for me. When my husband said good bye, I didn't get up. But part of the reason was I couldn't. I have done something to my back and can hardly move. I guess that is what you get for not exercising for a month or so. I have got to get back to it. But I crawled on the floor and did a few things I don't normally do playing with my grandsons. They are getting so big and growing up before our very eyes and I am sure I might have picked one of them up or the like. And it was hurting a little before Christmas. Well, now there is no comfortable position at all. It really hurts in every position. Actually, it hurts less when I am standing but who can stand all day. I did make an appointment with the chiropractor for late this morning. But it will be really fun showering and getti

THE NEW DAY

Image
Good morning! It's a new day! Greet one another with a kiss of love.  Peace to all of you who are in Christ. 2 Peter 5:14    Everyone with me sends you greetings.  Greet those who love us in the faith.  Grace be with you all. Titus 3:15  I pray that you had a wonderful day yesterday. We went to Cleveland and Chattanooga, TN shopping and had a great time. My husband, my son and daughter-in-law, and two grandsons and myself spent the day shopping for after Christmas deals. I didn't find a thing except I bought a box of DVDs. That is especially exciting.  God blesses us so much. His blessings abound, even when things don't go as you would hope. We didn't get to see our daughter and son-in-law for Christmas this year. So, we were going to go see them. Then that didn't work out. Then on Christmas Day it was decided that we would go two days later. Well, then it was decided that we couldn't get it together to make a weeks trip in such a

THE DAY AFTER

Image
Good morning on this rainy day after Christmas! What a beautiful day yesterday was! Blessed time with my son and family and friends. My husband read the Christmas story and prayed and thanked God after we opened presents. That is always so special when he does that. God is so good all the time. No, better than good, great, awesome, wonderful Counselor, almighty God, Prince of peace. We can never praise Him and thank Him enough. He really deserves more than we can give. We found a Christian channel on TV that had a beautiful fireplace with stockings hung , on the screen, playing Christmas hymns and carols most of the day. That was really cool. New toys were slung all over the house and good food abounded. We had a special young friend who came to dinner that moved here from Idaho to go to school in Chattanooga, and then graduated, found a job here and lives here without her family. That has got to be hard. But we have done that. We moved away from our families in Californi

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS

Image
Good morning on this wonderful Christmas Day!   Oh, come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord! Merry Christmas! Today is the day of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!   “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6   And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a mu
