True love

Good morning!  Not sure how much I will get done of this blog today. I am waiting to get on an airplane. I may not have internet or it may cost money and I am not going to pay for it.  Our VBS ended last night. What a great week! What a wonderful time and so many wonderful people to work with. God is great! Just got to my step-sisters outside of Los Angeles. Old house no air conditioning. Am I spoiled or what. Actually not bad yet but it is 3 hours earlier here. Just remember that Jesus loves you and cares about you, and He died on the cross for you. But He rose again and you can have eternal life if you give your heart to Him. Have a blessed day! Lesbear

CONTROLLED LIFE

Image
Good morning to you! What an awesome cool summer day! God is awesome to give us cool days for VBS. Usually it is so stifling hot but not this year! Here are some verses about self-control. I think that they are important. Proverbs 25:28  A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. 1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 2 Peter 1:5-7

REJOICE

Image
Good morning to you! Well, another day of VBS is gone. It was wonderful again last night with even more children. We are so blessed and praising God for His many blessings. He is so good, great and awesome! This day the Lord has made. I choose to rejoice and be glad in it! How about you? "Faith in Christ is the foundation for joy and hope in life. Jesus' life on earth, his death and resurrection is the cornerstone of Christian faith. This faith is not based on the state of our emotion. That's why it is important to study the Scriptures to strengthen our faith and grow in our knowledge of the truth. The Bible teaches that Jesus came into the world, entered human suffering and conquered sin and death. Only through faith in Jesus Christ can we persevere and sustain our hope and joy. The Bible gives us reason to rejoice. We rejoice because God showed his love and grace to us. We have reason to celebrate because God is in control. We should rejoice bec

BELIEVE GOD

Image
Good morning! Our VBS started last night. We had a great night. 29 people came and we hope to go up from here not counting all of our teachers and leaders and helpers. Sunday night is family day and people with their own church a lot of times go there. So, we are praising God and know that He has great things in store for the other nights! So another busy day getting ready for that and all the other things I have to do. Especially since I am leaving to go out of town the day after VBS is over.  So, trust God that He is Who He says He is! Trust God that He can do what He says He can do! Trust God that we are who He says we are! Trust God that we can do all things through Christ! And trust God that His Word is alive and active in our lives! I choose to believe God!! How about you? You are righteous, Lord ,      and your laws are right. 138  The statutes you have laid down are righteous;      they are fully trustworthy. 139  My zeal wears me out,      for

WORTHY IS HE

Image
Good morning to you on this Sunday morning! Forgive me for not posting yesterday. We were gone a lot of the day and when we came home I dozed off several times in the chair. And tonight our VBS starts through Wednesday. Please pray for us! We need to praise God today so here goes the scriptures: Day and night they never stop saying: "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE Lord GOD ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS, AND IS, AND IS TO COME."   Revelation 4:8b "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Revelation 4:11  In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" 13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the thron

WHO IS GOD!

Image
God's creation! Good morning to you! What a great day! Praise the Lord! He is awesome and mighty and full of unconditional love.  I hope that He is Lord and Savior of your life. GOD IS . . .     (Genesis 1:1) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Exodus 34:5-7 NIV) Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the LORD. {6} And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, {7} maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation." (Numbers 23:19 NIV) God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Deuteronomy 3

KNOW JESUS

Image
Good morning to you on this fine day! My husband told me this morning that we are going to have some more cool days coming up. Amazing for the end of July and early August! Praise God! I just spent a couple of days with my son, daughter-in-law, and 3 grandsons. What a blessing! To me that is like heaven. The short time I spend with my children and their families is so precious to me. It is never long enough but I will take all that I can get. Now it is time to get serious about VBS. Ours starts on Sunday night and goes through Wednesday. The last hurrah before school starts. And school starts so early this year. It seems to get earlier and earlier every year. Please pray with me that we have the biggest VBS ever and that many will ask Jesus into their hearts.  We all need Jesus! He is our Lord, Savior and best friend! And we need to know Him intimately. How can we be Christ-like in our lives if we don't know Him that well? And how do we get to know Him that wel

SO BLESSED

Image
Good morning! I hope that you enjoyed and learned about giving to God the last 5 days. I did! I thought it was important as part of our worship to God to refresh our memories on the subject of tithing. As I said the first day,  a lot of preachers don't preach about it. But we really do need to hear it periodically. I have had a wonderful couple of days with my grandsons. They are so sweet and it always is the greatest blessing of all time. If you don't have grandkids you will truly be blessed when you do. And as I have said before blessings do abound. If you don't feel like you have them, then look around you at God's creation, including His people. He has given us the air we breathe. It is all blessings. We just have to get our head out of our troubles and look to Jesus and He will help you see the blessings He has bestowed upon us. Including life itself! “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree

GIVING TO GOD 5

Image
Good morning to you! This is the conclusion of my series on tithing. "A Challenge by Mary Fairchild In conclusion, I'd like to explain my personal convictions and offer a challenge to my readers. As I've already stated, I believe tithing is no longer the law. As New Testament believers, we are under no legal obligation to give a tenth of our income. However, my husband and I feel strongly that the tithe ought to be the starting point of our giving. We see it as the minimum to give, a demonstration that everything we have belongs to God. We also believe most of our giving should go to the local church (the storehouse) where we are fed God's Word and nurtured spiritually. Malachi 3:10 says, "'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not b

GIVE TO GOD 4

Good morning! I am inclined to say this:  "Rain, Rain, go away! Come again another day!" Week. Month. For some reason when I got out of bed today and looked out the window, that was my thought. I haven't thought of that saying for many, many years. We were spoiled with such beautiful days and cooler air last week. We have cooler air when it rains, but then when the sun comes out it is stifling. If you haven't been where the air is dry: California, Arizona, Nevada, parts of New Mexico, then you don't know how stifling humidity really is compared to that, of course. This will be the second to the last day of the writings of Mary Fairchild. I just thought that it was important to be reminded what tithing is all about. I think sometimes we forget also that it is worshiping God. Worshiping God is not just praying, singing to the Lord, and going to church to worship. It is living our lives in worship to the Most High God Who created us.  Anyway, her

GIVE TO GOD 3

Image
Good morning this fine day! I haven't finished this yet because I don't want to leave anything out. So, I hope the Holy Spirit is speaking to you. "Believers should seek God and not a legalistic rule about how much to give." 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. "Giving is meant to be a joyful expression of thanks to God from the heart, not a legalistic obligation.   "The value of our offering is not determined by how much we give, but how we give." Mark 12:41-44 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the tru

GIVE TO GOD 2

Good morning!  I will get straight into this message from Mary Fairchild. I do believe it is important to know what tithing is all about. We may already know but it doesn't hurt to refresh our memories. God's work cannot be done without giving.   "We are blessed when we give." Acts 20:35 ... remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "God wants us to give because he knows how blessed we will be as we give generously to him and to others. Giving is a kingdom principle—it brings more blessing to the giver than to the recipient.   When we give freely to God, we receive freely from God." Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Proverbs 11:24 One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly,

GIVE TO GOD 1

Good morning to you! Well today is a rainy day! I would rather stay home and not go anywhere but there is much to do, so I will do it. I was reading this morning about tithing. This is a subject that a lot of people as well as churches stay away from. Although there are many church who try to hammer it in to you and are upset if you don't tithe. As a matter of fact they want to know how much money you make so they know how much you will be giving. Forgive those Lord, for ever thinking that is the way it should be. Today I am going to start a couple day series from a lady, Mary Fairchild, who does a blog. She can say it much better than I could.   "God wants us to give because it shows that we recognize he is truly the Lord of our lives." James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. "Everything we own and everything we have

JUST ASK

Image
My Stargazer Lily! They are so gorgeous! Good morning!  As I sit at this computer and then look at the clock, I think that I need to get off of here and get to work. Sometimes I loose such track of time! So, I will try to make this blog a quicky. I know that you are busy too. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, James 1:19 Are you quick to listen? Are you slow to speak? Are you slow to become angry? I try but I don't do such a great job. My listening and speaking has gotten worse as I get older. I need to be a better listener. I try to multi-task too much and that isn't near as good as it used to be. Lord help me! When I try to do so many things at once, sometimes I don't get anything done. So, if I am doing something and then try to listen at the same time, I don't listen very well. I need to stop what I am doing and then listen wholehearted

GIVE IT ALL

Image
This morning from my deck! Good morning to you! How are you on this beautiful cool day? It is hard to believe that it is just below 60* this morning in the middle of July in the south. But I won't complain because it is an awesome change. The sky is gorgeous blue with not a cloud in it. God is giving us a beautiful day. I choose to rejoice and be glad in it! How about you? I am giving God the glory for helping me and giving me peace in the next few weeks. I have much going on and I don't want to mess it up. With Him filling me with all I need, I shouldn't want for anything. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again:  Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The  Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but  in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanks-  giving, present your requests to God. And the peace  of God, which transcends all understanding, will  guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

STRENGTH

Image
Good morning! For our Sunday School class we are using Beth Moore's Believing God: Experiencing a Fresh Explosion of Faith. It is a really great Bible study. And some of us know that her studies are really deep. We all need to go deep sometimes. I am not a deep thinker. I guess I think simply. But this study is good because it causes me to go deeper than I normally would.  Right now our study is about Isaiah 40:21-31 and I am studying the 31st verse. but those who hope in the LORD will renew their  strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;  they will run and not grow weary,  they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 The word strength comes from the word strong. The study called us to do a word study and I picked strength.  That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses,  in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in diffi-  culties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10 Christ is our strength
