BETTER

Image
Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, near Gastonia, NC Good morning! The last couple of days have been absolutely gorgeous. The autumn days are so pretty. I love the fall leaves and trees and the clear blue sky and sometimes the white puffy clouds. It almost looks like a perfectly clear painting. The air is cool and a slight breeze abounds which makes the leaves fall off the trees. How can it be better? I don't particularly like the leaves everywhere, on my deck, on my front porch, covering the driveway, and in my carport, oh, and all over the grass. But that is beside the point! I love it so much that I can say that God is good all the time and all the time God is good! And it is so true. He is good! But I always think when I hear that, that He is so much more than good. I have probably talked about this before, maybe even countless times. But it is so true! "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever".  Psalm 107:1 "You are g

GOD'S LOVE AND FORGIVENESS

A blog hasn't been written here in a long time, well, since May. It isn't because I haven't wanted to. It just seems like life flies by and the time just hasn't been there. But that is okay! I have noticed on others blogger's pages that they didn't blog every day either. Actually, I did do it every day for well over a year. I felt God calling me to do that. To tell some of my story. To encourage others. To tell others how much Jesus loves them! And for those who read it faithfully, I am so thankful to you. If you have never read this before, I hope that you will go back and read my blog. The dates really don't matter. It is the content that matters. And I hope and pray that the content has meant something to you or that it will mean something to you and perhaps change your life. All I really want to do is tell others about Jesus. To help them to come to know Him or to seek His face and know Him better. And that is what I want for myself: to see

HOW GREAT THOU ART

Good morning! Oh Lord our God, when I in awesome wonder... What a might God we serve! Of course, the previous sentence is from the hymn "How Great Thou Art." And it is so true. We do serve a great and awesome God! And I am so thankful to Him for the life He has given me. We are truly blessed.  My life is not perfect. Blessed is not perfect. No one ever said it would be. Stuff happens as I have said many times before. But our God loves us and is always with us. No matter what happens He is right there with us. He will forever be by our side. Do we trust Him? Do we really know He is there?  Well, if we know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, then we know He is right there with us bringing us through everything that we go through. Life is not easy. It definitely takes effort because it is work. When we have relationships we don't always try as hard as we can to make them work. And when we go through stuff, sometimes we say the wrong things, we do the w

Dusk from a day last week! Good day to you! God is good all the time! All the time God is good! And that is the truth! He is actually better than good! Psalm 147:5   Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. Psalm 135:5   For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Psalm 95:3 For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. Jeremiah 10:6 No one is like you, LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power. Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. And how amazing are these things. How amazing is our God! His unconditional love for all mankind is beyond comprehension. So, I know and I am telling you that Our God Reigns! STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES

These are on our road.            Good morning to you on this beautiful  day that the Lord has made! Wow! I didn't realize how long it has been since I wrote on this blog. It was almost 3 weeks ago on my daughter's 30th birthday.  Boy time flies! They say when you are having fun. I have had such a busy month of March. As I have said before life is supposed to get less busy when you get older, right? It hasn't happened yet. I am still busy as ever. I do always spend time with my Lord in the morning every day but there is always too much to do.  Is that satan trying to take our focus off Jesus?  I have heard that, and I want to share part of a post I made (from Sept. 2014) that I have shared a couple of times, but it is worth remembering. And then I will post a few spring pictures and I just moved them from the bottom to the top. I will also post the BUSY words instead of giving you a link to go to it. "Being Under Satan's Yoke

WAIT ON THE LORD

Image
I am ready for spring and summer. How about you? Good morning! I know for a fact that you have found that things sometimes aren't the way that you think they should be. I am going through that right now. So, I am praying for God's will and His outcome. God knows our hearts and wants us to trust Him no matter what plan He brings forth. And if His plan is different than my plan then actually that is better because He knows best.  That doesn't make it any easier to go through. But I know that I must wait on God and I guess I am not the most patient person. I want to know what is going to happen now so I can plan. But sometimes that is not to be. I am a planner. I write everything down but I am thinking now that is not what God wants me to do. He wants me to totally depend on Him! So, as hard as that will be, that is what I will do. I am also asking you to pray with me that in this situation God's will will be done. Jere

GIVING THANKS

Our yard! Our driveway! Our road! Good morning! Hello! I wrote this actually on the 27th of Feb. and never posted it, but I didn't want to not post. So, here goes! How are you faring today? Well, it is still white outside. We had about 7" of snow hit us on Wed. night. We don't live in a place where we get that much snow. So, things come a little at a stand still. Schools and businesses close. We don't have snow plows here to scrape the roads, at least where we live, in the country. Every once in awhile they brine (liquid salt) the roads ahead of time. But they only have enough to do the main roads and when we have as many snow events like we had this year, they run out and don't have the money to get more. Therefore when it snows like it did this last time the roads weren't salted. It has been beautiful for sure but it has certainly gotten old. We are very grateful that we don't live in a place like Boston where it has

LIFE WITH HIM

Good morning to you! Can't believe that February is coming to a close. The months seem to fly by! We have had snow, ice, sleet, freezing rain, and rain and fog in the last week. Maybe God is trying to tell us to slow down, stay home for a change, spend time with our family, spend time with Me (Him)! What do you think? I do believe that it is altogether possible, maybe even probable. God doesn't think like we do. He has a plan for our lives, the lives of His people. And He wants us to have abundant lives. John 10:10   The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. Jeremiah 29:11   For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord , plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.   I want abundant life. I want hope. I want the thief to leave my family and me alone.  Ja

BY FAITH

Good morning! And it is early. I drank decaf coffee in a restaurant last evening and here I am at 3:15 AM wide awake and have been for awhile. I am not sure what restaurants think decaf is but this has happened several times before. And now that I think of it, at the same restaurant more than once. Obviously, it is not 100% decaf, arabica maybe but not decaffeinated. Ugh! I am so tired and can't sleep. I have prayed and prayed and sang songs of Jesus and His love and my eyes are wide open. Lord, help me! I am believing by faith that He will. My computer is about to die. I forgot to charge it yesterday. So, when it does I will finish this in the morning. At least I am yawning. That's a start, I guess. And later today, I have a very busy day. I guess I will have to take a nap. And I also know that with God's help, all will work out according to His awesome will. 1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything

TRY HARDER

Hello to you! What have you been doing this past week? Have you been spending time with God? Have you been worshiping Him? Have you been serving Him? These are things to think about. How well am I doing these things? Well, I need to think about it, too. We can always do better at the things that mean the most. We can always spend more time with God. We can always worship more, worship in Spirit and in truth. We can always serve the Lord every second, every minute, every hour. We can always try harder. We can do better! Life is hard. Life is not what we always expect it to be. But God can change our life. He can make it better not perfect, not easy but better. And with Him in our lives and us being obedient to Him, through time with Him, worship, and service we can have a live that is awesome, abundant, and everlasting. And all because we believe in the One True God! We give our heart to Him. We follow Him! Here are some scriptures to point out these things:

IN WORSHIP

Good morning! All is well here. I haven't been on for awhile. As I said a while back, life is so busy. I don't understand how people can be bored! Last weekend we went to Resurrection. This is a youth conference that happens every year in Gatlinburg, TN, and this was the 30th anniversary this year. There was probably 5000 attending including youth leaders and pastors. What a blessing to see youth and their leaders praising and worshiping the Lord together in corporate worship. The speaker, Reggie Dabbs, was wonderful and so was the worship band. It was City Harmonic. I hear them on our local Christian radio station.  Our youth were intrigued with the speaker. He is a sought after youth speaker who knows how to talk to teenagers. It all was a blessing! And to spend time with our youth leaders and the kids was also wonderful. We don't get to hang out very often together. We all need to get away every once in a while. Away from the every day lif

Good morning to you! How are you this fine week? God showed me several months ago that I should not post every single day as I was for the last 600 and some odd posts. My thought was "Lord that is what you wanted me to do from day 1." But as time went on, it was harder and harder for me to do it every day. So, I started missing posts and then feeling guilty and getting stressed about it. And God told me that "that was not what I wanted you to do. I wanted you to share your heart and what I have given you to share, not in a stressed out way." So, I started posting farther apart and it has helped so much. On the days that I do share now I am not stressed and I hear when the Lord tells me to share. That is a good thing! Now today I was reading my devotion and this is what God wanted me to share with you.
