TRY HARDER

Image
Hello to you! What have you been doing this past week? Have you been spending time with God? Have you been worshiping Him? Have you been serving Him? These are things to think about. How well am I doing these things? Well, I need to think about it, too. We can always do better at the things that mean the most. We can always spend more time with God. We can always worship more, worship in Spirit and in truth. We can always serve the Lord every second, every minute, every hour. We can always try harder. We can do better! Life is hard. Life is not what we always expect it to be. But God can change our life. He can make it better not perfect, not easy but better. And with Him in our lives and us being obedient to Him, through time with Him, worship, and service we can have a live that is awesome, abundant, and everlasting. And all because we believe in the One True God! We give our heart to Him. We follow Him! Here are some scriptures to point out these things:

IN WORSHIP

Good morning! All is well here. I haven't been on for awhile. As I said a while back, life is so busy. I don't understand how people can be bored! Last weekend we went to Resurrection. This is a youth conference that happens every year in Gatlinburg, TN, and this was the 30th anniversary this year. There was probably 5000 attending including youth leaders and pastors. What a blessing to see youth and their leaders praising and worshiping the Lord together in corporate worship. The speaker, Reggie Dabbs, was wonderful and so was the worship band. It was City Harmonic. I hear them on our local Christian radio station.  Our youth were intrigued with the speaker. He is a sought after youth speaker who knows how to talk to teenagers. It all was a blessing! And to spend time with our youth leaders and the kids was also wonderful. We don't get to hang out very often together. We all need to get away every once in a while. Away from the every day lif

Good morning to you! How are you this fine week? God showed me several months ago that I should not post every single day as I was for the last 600 and some odd posts. My thought was "Lord that is what you wanted me to do from day 1." But as time went on, it was harder and harder for me to do it every day. So, I started missing posts and then feeling guilty and getting stressed about it. And God told me that "that was not what I wanted you to do. I wanted you to share your heart and what I have given you to share, not in a stressed out way." So, I started posting farther apart and it has helped so much. On the days that I do share now I am not stressed and I hear when the Lord tells me to share. That is a good thing! Now today I was reading my devotion and this is what God wanted me to share with you. Let the Little Children Come Read Mark 10:13-16     (click this link) Matthew 21:16 (NRSV) Jesus said to [the chief priests and the sc

HIM FIRST

Good morning! Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Isn't that amazing? He will you know. Your needs may not be financial. They may be something so much worse or so much more but God will meet them. It may not be the way you want or may not be what you expect but He will meet them.  We do have to remember that we do want God's will to be done as The Lord's Prayer says. So He will meet our every need with His will not ours. That is really awesome because if we do something our way and did not seek God first and it doesn't work then we can only blame ourselves, or at least we should blame ourselves. Our human thinking is that it is God's fault because He didn't make it work. NO NO NO! If we didn't seek Him first, then that is our fault. He can make it work when we don't seek Him first. But if it is not in our own best interest then probably He won't. A

LIVE FOR HIM

Good morning to you this fine Saturday! I wanted to share some scripture with you. It is the 23rd Psalm: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. How many times have I read this and today it felt like a great way to begin the New Year. Trusting God with your life. Letting Him be the Lord of your life. We may be following God to the best of our ability. But can we do better? We can always do better.  Leading a Christian l

NEW YEAR?

Good day to you! Happy New Year to everyone! Christmas is over. But in all reality Christmas is never over. Never done. Never finished. It is always with us. Christ is always with us! Deuteronomy 31:6 " Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." So, it is the stress, the hustle and bustle, the extreme busyness that is finished, past, over until next year. But Jesus is not over until next year. It may be His birthday that only comes once a year just like our birthdays. But just like us we don't go away or disappear. Neither does Jesus. He is with us always. He is in our heart! Is Jesus in your heart? Have you asked Him to live in your heart? If you have not, it is time. 2 Corinthians 6:2 for He says, "AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU." Behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE
