GET CLOSER TO GOD

Hello! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a very Happy New Year! It is about time I did another post. As you know this past year has been wild and crazy, and scary and hard for so many people, well, most of us. And even though I had plenty of time to post a message, it just didn't happen. The news people have tried to scare everyone to death. So, we have those who will not leave their homes, and haven't since March. We have those who leave a little to buy groceries only. We also have those who leave a lot but wear masks and have stock in hand sanitizer and hand soap. Then last but not least we have those who very seldom wear a mask and do get away with it. It definitely has been very trying times. I am not saying any one way is best or wrong! We have to do what is right for us. This has actually been a stress on us. If we do go out the door we have to make sure we have a mask and hand sanitizer with us. We do our best to stay away from others as best we can. And som

KNOW JESUS THROUGH HIS WORD

Good morning my readers! I praise God for you! If it wasn't for someone reading this blog, there would be no point in writing it! Even if only one person reads it and comes closer to Jesus because of it, then I praise the Lord and am thrilled. Grace to you and peace from God our  Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  Philippians 1:2 As I was sitting outside a little while ago in this beautiful, cooler morning, I was reading my devotion. I was struck by the notion that we really don't know Jesus. Or do we? We may have become a Christian years ago. We pray. We do our morning devotion, but do we really know Jesus, and understand Him, and seek Him.  Do we really know Him? Do we think we do? Do we read His Word every single day. But before we read His Word do we ask Him to fill us with the understanding He wants us to have? It is the Holy Spirit that teaches us and explains spiritual things to us. 13  This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by

MY DAD AND ME

Image
Good morning! I haven't posted in a while because, well, lots of things have happened. My dad started getting weaker and weaker when he was stuck at my house for a month when Covid started. He was here  visiting  only a few days when all was shut down, church, visiting friends, restaurants, etc. That made him very depressed. And depressed to the point of wanting to sleep all the time. My sister and I finally gave in and did a Daddy drop-off in the northwest mountains of Georgia. I live in TN and she and Dad lived in NC. And this was about the half-way point. (In 2012 Dad and Loretta, my step-mom, moved away from here after living next door to us for 15 years.) Once Dad got home he did the same thing. He slept all the time. He never turned the TV on once from the day he left my house until the day he passed. He was a TV watcher but I know that at that point he was having a hard time understanding what was going on.  He also didn't want to get dressed or take a shower. It was too

PRAISE GOD!

Gulf Shores in the morning Oct. 7, 2019 Good morning!  The Lord wants me to share with you about praising God! You might think "What to I have to praise Him about? My life is a shambles right now. There is this virus and we can't do anything but stay home." Well, help us Jesus. We are all in the same boat. We all have a totally different boat but we are, or at least most of us, staying home, staying out of trouble or harm's way. "Well, what do you mean by that?" Well, we all have our own lives to live that are totally different. We all have different situations. We can't avoid those situations. Well, maybe some of them we can. But those are for a different day. One thing we can all do is praise the Lord! A lot of us have a family at home with us. Praise the Lord! And with that family at home we have the opportunity spend quality time together, to teach life lessons, to sit and cuddle that we don't always have time to do, and bond

WHAT A DAY!

Dear friends and loved ones, Good morning! What a day and time that we are living in. Do we go to the grocery store or not? Do we go outside or not? Will the store have toilet paper or not? Is it possible to stay 6 feet apart if we do go to the store? Will I get the virus? Will I get really sick if I do? Will I infect my family? Will I die or get well if I get it? If I get "it" will I infect others? Are you worrying? Please don't worry!  Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you .1 Peter 5:7 So many questions and no answers! If we have a stay at home order in our county or state,  do we stay at home?  Well, that is part of the problem. We are not following the rules. Well, when it comes to something like this, this virus, we have to follow these rules. In our state we don't have a stay-at-home order, like many of the others. I believe it is because we are following the rules, we are social distancing ourselves. It may come to this eventually bu
