GREAT NAME

Image
Good morning to you this fine morning! I pray that all is well with you. As this morning moves along and I get nothing at all done, I am feeling like I need to get something done. It seems as though when I start out with exercise I get more done for the day. I usually walk with my friend/neighbor and we walk for an hour or so and then I come home and get busy getting things done.  Well, we couldn't walk so far this week and I almost feel like I have lost my way. What do we do when we feel lost? We find our way with Jesus, Who has a great Name. He will pick us up, and dust us off, and send us on our way. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave y

THE GREATNESS OF GOD

Image
This picture was taken by someone  at church about a month ago near  the south end of Meigs County, TN.  It looks either awesome or scary. Or could it be the hand of God! Good morning! I am going to repeat a blog that I ran in 2013. I thought it was good and it came to my attention again this morning. Since I just happened to find a copy on my computer files when I was looking for something else, I am sure that God wanted me to repost it: Today is a day that the Lord has made and we should rejoice and be glad in it. And I will. I hope that you do also. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised... Psalm 48:1a ...for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God. Deuteronomy 7:21 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. Deuteronomy 10:17 “How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, a

LOVE OF GOD

Hello! God is great! Worship was great! Fellowship was great! Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! I know that we don't go to church to fellowship. I mean, yes, we go to fellowship and worship with the One True God. But we also go to fellowship with all God's children. They are our church family. And for some people, like us, who don't have any blood family nearby, our church family is the next best thing. It is always great to connect when you only see each other a couple times a week. The message at church today was about how much God loves us and that we should be His light and love in the world around us whether we touch someone in a second or two or minutes or hours. We are given that moment to make a difference for Christ. And I don't know about you but I want to make a difference. The scripture was John 9:1-7 . (Click on verse for link.) In just a short moment in time Jesus came upon the man blind from birth and made dirt and spit, put it on

WORDS

Image
The Chesapeake Bay Good morning to you! Do you ever wonder what makes you say the things you do? I say some pretty crazy things and I am getting worse. How do I make it better? How do I stop saying things the way I do? I only cause heartache for myself and probably others. For one thing this scripture comes to mind: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. So, through Christ I can do it. How do I know that I can do it? First of all, I have to believe that God is Who He says He is. And I have to believe that His Word is truth. I do and I do! 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.… Psalm 19:14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. I need to pray without ceasing, spend time in God's Word, meditate on it, and trust Him. I also need to: Psalm 119:11 I

SUCH A TIME

Good morning! Here I am trying to multi-task again before I leave for the doctor's. And I know that it is crazy to even try. But just maybe I will get it right this time, this day, for such a time as this? It is altogether possible and is probable that God puts us in situations and places, that He wants us in, isn't it? Of course it is. Look at this verse: Esther 4:14b ...And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”   Are we here for a reason? I believe that we are. I believe that God has a specific purpose for our lives. And He can and will put us in places and situations so that we can be a witness to someone, or tell someone a specific thing, or encourage someone. And sometimes we won't even know what that might be until later, after the fact. But God knows His mind and what He can and will do. He could put us in a job that we do not like just so we can be a witness to someone. God plants us where we are. Now

WORK FOR GOD

Good morning to you! Just trying to keep my internet from running out before the last day of the month. We have only so much GB to use and then the internet goes into dial-up speed. I have been trying to change settings on certain things so that it won't use as much. It is the videos and photos on websites and in emails and such that use it up. Also trying to figure out what to have for dinner. Also, trying to do this blog, laundry, fix breakfast, and so many other things all at the same time. Needless to say I am not eating and am not getting much done. I try to multi-task but don't do as well anymore. My multi-tasking list is just too long. Needless to say sometimes I get nothing done. But I am doing this blog and my dryer is running on a load for the 2nd time so, I guess I am getting something done now. Something is better than nothing. When working for the Lord sometimes we feel like we aren't doing enough. Sometimes we feel like we are doing too much. Wh

FRUSTRATIONS OR BLESSINGS

Good morning! I have to tell you that I get aggravated at these free blog websites just a wee bit. My blog looks so good and the draft is in good shape with spacing and all that kind of stuff. And then when you post it, some of that stuff changes. But it doesn't do it every day. The spacing and stuff just changes all on its own. I guess sometimes that "you get what you pay for." I love the Blogger and what it can do for you, but it is by all means not perfect. Oh well. Please forgive me if it is not perfect! (In these kind of things I am a perfectionist. I want it to look just right!) But life is that way. It is not perfect. Some things are good, some great, some not so good, some very frustrating. It is all in how you look at it. They could be considered blessings if you look it them in the right way. I must do better to look at the frustrating things in a better light. I do get frustrated too easy. I suppose that has to do with patience. I don't want t

YOU ARE LOVED

Good morning! Jesus loves you and I love you! So, know that you are loved and consider yourself hugged! You are loved by me just because. Not because you read my blog. I know that some of you may read it every day and some every once in a while. And that is okay. I appreciate you no matter what you have the time to do.  We are all very busy and have so much to do each and every day. If you want to read more about that, use the "search blog" and type in "busy" and you will get several blogs that I have written that pertain to busyness.  Anyway, we are a very busy people. Some have businesses or jobs or family to take care of and so therefore time is of the essence. But do remember this: Jesus loves you so very much that He died for you. And if you don't have time for Him, then you are really missing out.  But the fact that HE LOVES YOU should never be forgotten. It doesn't really matter if I love you, but it does matter that He loves you. It

This is the schooner Alliance in  Yorktown, VA that we took our Sunset  Cruise. The sails are already part way  down from a previous cruise. Good morning! Since we have been gone for a week, I have lots to catch up on. So, I would like to share this devotion with you from the Upper Room. "What Is Important in Life? Read 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 The human spirit will endure sickness;  but a broken spirit — who can bear? - Proverbs 18:14 (NRSV) Today's Devotional One wonderful summer morning I went out for a walk. I went in a wheelchair because this is the only way I can move. A man came up behind me and said, “I don’t envy you.” I kept going, smiling and thinking that he should envy me! What a shame, I thought, that people often don’t see what is really important in life. Health problems are seen as a huge calamity while problems with the soul go unnoticed and the other gifts of God are not valued. G

LOVE

Good morning to you! I pray that all is well with you and that you are having a great weekend! Let God fill you to overflowing with His love today. Go to church! Listen to a church service on the radio or TV. Just do it! Hear what God wants to tell you. Let Him use other people to show you His love. Maybe by a smile or a kind word. Or a hug. Or let Him use you to show that same love to someone else. Isaiah 63:7 I will tell of the LORD's unfailing love. I will praise the LORD for all he has done. I will rejoice in his great goodness to Israel, which he has granted according to his mercy and love. John 3:16 "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. Ephesians 2:4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 1 Pet 2:9 “Yo

PRAY SOME MORE

Good morning! I just heard that the Air Force does not have to say "under God" in the pledge of allegiance. That to me is detestable! What is our country coming to? We are giving up and giving up some more and not standing up for what is right. I know people have free choice. But so people who don't want to say under God just don't say it yourself. Don't make it that way for everyone else. But then again maybe most of the men and women in the armed forces don't want to say under God. All I can say is that we need to pray. And pray heartily! And without ceasing! 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Oh Lord. Please heal our land! We do not know what we are doing! Help us Lord! We have just returned from our vacation last night. We had such a wonder

KEEP PRAYING

Good morning to you! Dear Lord,      The evil in this world baffles me. How do people get the idea that doing evil things is okay? I guess they saw someone else do evil things and thought that it was okay. Oh Lord, forgive them for they know not what they do! Help them to see that God made people to love not to hate. God made people valuable not unvaluable. God, You love us and You even love evil doers. Please help them to stop. Help them to see Your light. Protect the people in the evil people's path so that no more would have evil deeds done to them. Lord, please put the blood of Jesus around the innocent people and protect them. In Jesus Name, Amen! Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  1 John 5:19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.     James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to Go

PRAYER

Hello! I would like to share a devotion that I read this morning. It was really good. So, enjoy! Creative Prayer Read Psalm 119:121-136 Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive. - Matthew 21:22 (NRSV) Today's Devotional Several years ago, I realized that my prayer life was in trouble. Praying was not a meaningful part of my daily routine. Many other things filled my days and nights. I began to pray for God’s help. Before long, a friend introduced me to a new way of praying through art, explaining how the use of color could brighten a person’s prayer life. I love color, and I quickly became interested. In time, my prayer life took on new meaning. Some colored pens and a sketchbook were all I needed. After much thought, I decided that the best time for my new prayer life was in the early morning. I began to write with my colored pens the names of family and friends, scribbling designs in and around them. As m

HOPE IN HIM

Good morning this fine day! Hope that your days are filled with the love of the Father including His peace, grace and mercy. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.   Are you overflowing with hope? What does that even mean? Finding an Anchor for the Storms of Life The old sailor looked at the skies and saw a dark storm coming. As the sea became rough and choppy, the old salt calmly lowered the heavy-chained anchor link by link, battened down the hatches and went to bed for the night. He knew the storm would be rough. But he had faith in the grasp of the anchor. He knew his boat would be there in the morning.  Hope Defined Like that sailor, we have an "anchor" for our lives t

SONSHINE

Image
Last night from  the Schooner Alliance! Good morning to you! Went to Wellspring United Methodist Church yesterday in Williamsburg, VA. We love to go to other churches when we are out of town. We went to the 8:45 service and then we had the rest of the day to see much. And we praised the Lord, even after we worshiped Him! Then we went back to the Yorktown Battlefield to see what we did not already see, had a perfect dinner on the water and took a sunset cruise on the Alliance Schooner. Wow, what a day God blessed us with! It was a beautiful day. The sun shone. Does the Son shine in you? What was really cool was we were walking up to the restaurant to eat dinner and my husband turned around to say something to me. And then he heard his name called. And when he turned around there was the people that he just recently finished painting their new home. They even had an open house for the contractors and their families so I had met them. To me that is a God moment!

TURN

Image
Hello! Wow, God is awesome! TN Vols are playing Oklahoma. Not a fair fight but TN is not getting killed and hopefully they won't. But then maybe they will. But hope not! In Williamsburg, VA. There is so much to see. We will never see it all in a week. My husband has already said that we will have to come back again sometime. Yes! It is a beautiful place. Went to the Yorktown Battlefield today and we will go back tomorrow and see more. There was too much to see in a few hours. Our country was founded on godly principles and it needs to go back to godly principles. 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Joel 2:12 "Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." Hosea 6:1

WORTHY

Good morning to you! I pray that you had a blessed day yesterday! I pray that you trusted God and that His mercy and grace and peace are upon you in every situation. What a great and awesome God we serve! May we never turn our backs on Him. For He is worthy! Revelation 4:11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. Psalm 96:4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 2 Samuel 22:4 "I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies. Have a blessed and praiseworthy day! Lesbear

GRACE

Good morning! Another extremely busy day. I choose to give all the glory to God. For HE is worthy and He is able!! Please pray for my dad. He is having a pacemaker put in today. His heart rate has been in the low 30's and he has had a monitor on. He was supposed to wear it for a couple of weeks but after only 2 days he got the call from his doctor to come in right away and definitely needed a pacemaker. So, with God's amazing grace and healing he will be fine.  Written on the Heart After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts. . . . I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.  Jeremiah 31: 33, 34.  The same law that was engraved upon the tablets of stone, is written by the Holy Spirit upon the tablets of the heart. Instead of going about to establish our own righteousness we accept the righteousness of Christ. His blood atones for our sins. His obedience is accep
