GET CLOSER TO GOD

Hello! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a very Happy New Year!

It is about time I did another post. As you know this past year has been wild and crazy, and scary and hard for so many people, well, most of us. And even though I had plenty of time to post a message, it just didn't happen.

The news people have tried to scare everyone to death. So, we have those who will not leave their homes, and haven't since March. We have those who leave a little to buy groceries only. We also have those who leave a lot but wear masks and have stock in hand sanitizer and hand soap. Then last but not least we have those who very seldom wear a mask and do get away with it. It definitely has been very trying times. I am not saying any one way is best or wrong! We have to do what is right for us.

This has actually been a stress on us. If we do go out the door we have to make sure we have a mask and hand sanitizer with us. We do our best to stay away from others as best we can. And sometimes when you talk to people sometimes they can get so close to you when you talk and you don't want them to. I find myself backing away. Trying times as I said!

In a way it all seems silly, like how can all this happen this way! Then again it is a serious major life change and affects us all, very seriously. Who do we trust to tell us the truth in it all. Well, God is the only One we can totally trust. Seek Him in it all.

It is hard to believe that we don't want to be near people. Actually I do want to be near people. I guess I am a people person. I like hugs and such from friends and family. And I miss that so much!

More important than that, I want to be close to God. Has this crazy time caused you to want to be closer to God? To seek Him, to love Him more, to serve Him, to be more like Christ? Or has it caused you to doubt Him and/or not want to be near Him.

First of all, God does not cause bad stuff to happen. Satan is alive and well and doing his best to draw us all who know Jesus away from Jesus. The evil one wants us to worship him and not God. There is no gray area. There is no in between. We either know God or we know the devil. And I want you to know that I know God and want to earnestly seek Him.

God's Word says in John 10:10 where Jesus is talking,"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." NIV

The devil is the thief. He wants to take our abundant life away that Jesus gives us. He is the joker. He makes everything look good and fun but he is tearing us away from Jesus or keeping us from Him. How awful to think that the devil hates us that much. He just wants to control the world and everything in it. But God is in control. He has the victory in and through Jesus Christ. Amen!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”                         Joshua 1:9 ESV

In these times we need some more words of encouragement. And who is best to give perfect encouragement but the Lord God Almighty!

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Matthew 28:20b

Be strong and courageous; don't be terrified

or afraid of them. For it is the Lord

your God who goes with you; He will

not leave you or forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Let us then approach God’s throne of

grace with confidence, so that we may receive

mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

In our time of need, God does His part by keeping His promises of never leaving us and alway being with us, and by giving grace and mercy to us. Praise God!

But we must do our part too. Jesus Christ gave His all, His life, for us. How can we not do what we need to do?

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,

and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:33

He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all

your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength

and with all your mind’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”…

Luke 10:27

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

James 4:8a ESV

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

Matthew 21:22 NIV

And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

Deuteronomy 10:12 NIV

I would like to think that I am doing all these things for God. I am not perfect but I try to do all that God wants me to. Do you try? We all need to try but first we need to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. If you haven't done that yet, that is your priority. He loves you beyond measure just the way you are.

(I am having trouble with the paragraph justification so this may be all out of wack. Forgive me!)

Anyway here is the way to ask Jesus into your heart, get saved, pray the sinner's prayer, or however you wish to word it. God hears you and does answer. If you pray it, don't ever doubt it!

Prayer of Salvation

Once you pray this prayer, you can do all that God wants you to do. It is all amazing! I hope that you will try!

Have an amazing day!

I will try to correct all the mistakes that I can. But sometimes this Blogger just doesn't cooperate and isn't perfect.
