GOD IS SO GOOD!
Beautiful day taken between the dorms
and Pushmataha Family Life Center
at the Choctaw UM Mission.
Good morning!
We serve an awesome God! Every year on the mission trip, it is the same God we serve. But also every year is different battles. But God triumphed here in Mississippi this year and we praise His holy Name!
Much work was done. Much ministry was done. Much love is in our team. And much, much love was given to the Choctaw people.
We have had many God moments this week. Too many to name. But God is so good and we praise His Holy Name.
I apologize for not sending more details and pictures of our mission trip this year. We were exceptionally busy during this week trying to fit it all in. We were very exhausted. We were very hot. The heat index was 112 degrees the last night when we had the carnival, which was outside!
God helped us do it. There were over 200 people there from the Bogue Chitto community. A lot of parents brought their children to the carnival. That was definitely a blessing!
If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you know how great He is! He hears our prayers and answers our prayers. Now the answers most likely may not be what we want. And that is the point! When we pray that God's will be done whenever we pray then He will answer in a way that He deems best, His way. Remember:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
His ways are the best ways. He knows the bigger picture. And a lot of times what we want is not in God's will for our lives. When we surrender to Him, then we want His ways all the time and not our ways. Sometimes our ways can lead us into trials, tribulation and sin. I certainly don't want to go there and I hope that you don't either.
Now we certainly are not perfect and we do things and ask for things amiss but God will make a way. He loves us unconditionally and is faithful and forgiving. He is GOD and we are not!
So, as I continue to work on mission trip stuff for a while longer, and bask in God's love and blessings from this year's trip, I know that He is in control. And as great as this year's trip was, I also know that next year's will be even better. Because that is how God is! When we seek Him and His will, He will bless us or "reward" us or "lack no good thing" it says in these verses.
Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—
Psalm 119:2
And without faith it is impossible to
please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe
that he exists
and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those
who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Psalm 34:10
So, as you pray, and seek God's will for your life and then do what HE wishes, remember that He is good all the time and He wants what is best for you. Then do what He wants!
Have an awesome day!
