PRAISE & WORSHIP HIM
Good morning to you on this nippy Saturday morning!
It was probably close to 20* when I got up but it has warmed up to 26. Got a call from our company who are coming. They stayed in middle TN last night and woke up to 2" of snow. Ugh!! Pray for traveling mercies.
Well, right now I am hopping back and forth between the computer to post this blog and the crock pot to fix dinner. Well, the crock pot is so full I can't fit another thing in it and it is a 5 qt. one. It will be great.
Wouldn't that be awesome if we could be so full of God that we couldn't fit any more of Him in us? Wow! What a thought! I suppose that is how it will be when we get to heaven. We will be as full of Him as we can get. What a wonderful life that will be! Praising and worshiping Him 24/7 although there probably won't be a 24/7 or days and nights. It will be eternity!
There is a purpose for all God does. Likewise, there is a purpose for our praise and worship of God. Praise and worship is the expression of God’s worth to us. Show me someone who is actively involved in worship freely and I will show you someone who has a high estimation of God. Likewise, one who doesn’t express God’s worth to them through worship is one who has a low estimation of God.
Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
John 14:21, 23-24
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing
to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
Romans 12:1
Praise and worship is the purpose for which we were created. Someone may say, what is my purpose? Our purpose is to bring Him
pleasure. One of the greatest ways to pleasure God is through praise and
worship.
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”
Revelation 4:11
Also, read Rev. 4:8-11, 5:9-11; 7:9-12; 19:1-8 for a picture of worship in eternity. How we live and worship is on the job training. How are we doing?
Praise and worship is the means of entering God’s presence.
“Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve
the LORD with
gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He
is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His
people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with
thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise”
Psalm 100:1-4
What might it be like when we worship Him with all our might? How will
we be affected by His presence? Every experience in God’s presence may
be somewhat different. It is probably different at home and at church. We may go all out in our prayer closet and then at church we hold back. One thing I am assured of is that in His
“presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures
forevermore”. Psalm 16:11.
Praise and worship is the the avenue through which God is ministered to.
It was said of the church at Antioch, “While they were ministering to
the Lord”. Acts 13:2. We always talk of ministering to others and
of God ministering to us, but God has a need to be ministered to as
well, “for the Father is seeking such to worship Him”. John 4:23.
Praise and worship is an expressed way for us to minister to the Lord.
We normally don’t think of God as having needs, but He needs our
worship. The only way His need will ever be met is through you and me –
our worship of Him.
Let’s fulfill our purpose in life by praising and worshiping with all of our heart.
Have a wonderfully blessed day!
