THE RESURRECTION

Image
Hello! Happy Easter this Sunday! I just received and read a letter from the director of the ministry, One Million Moms. I belong to it. It is one of the ministries of the American Family Association. Anyway, I am going to share this letter with you because it is right and true. He is Risen!     Dear Leslye, A dear friend sent me these words, and I want to share them with you. They are not her words, but these words – or a variation of them – are posted all over the internet. The ones below are taken directly from a Facebook post in which the author is anonymous: An old and beautiful legend says that, at the time of the crucifixion, the dogwood was comparable in size to the oak tree and other large trees of the forest. Because of its firmness and strength, it was selected as the timber for the cross.  But to be put to such a cruel use greatly distressed the tree. Sensing this, the crucified Jesus, in his gentle pity for the sorrow and suffering of all, said to it:  'B...

A NEW DAY

I took this very short video this  morning of the snow but for some  reason I couldn't get it to  download. This is what I got. I  believe it works, though! Good morning! It is snowing! As I sit here in my son's room, now my sewing room, I sit straight across the room from the window. The snow is awesome as always! It reminds me of purity, the purity of Jesus Christ! This is a new day. A new week. A new month. And each day that God gives us brings new beginnings. And the snow means a clean slate to me. The saying comes to mind, "As pure as the wind driven snow". Can we make a clean slate of our lives? Oh, yes, we can! Or should I say that Jesus can!  Here is an article:  Lesson 19: The Cleansing Power of Jesus (Luke 5:12-16) .                                   This is a long article but very interesting and could answer a lot of questions we may have. We read this in these ...

Seek God with All of Your Heart

You will seek me and find me, when  you seek me with all your heart.  Jeremiah 29:13 NIV Good morning! I have written my blog many times before about seeking God. But this morning I wanted to read more about how to seek God. So I googled it (actually I use the duckduckgo search engine because it doesn't steal your personal info) and I read an article in Road to Glory . It was a great article. But then I clicked on  Seek the Lord   on Bible Knowledge.com. Anyway, the article is extremely long but wow. It is a definite must-read. Even if you need to bookmark it and read a little bit everyday. However you do it, it is really eye opening. Even when you think you know the Lord intimately already, there is always a lot more to learn. This particular part of the article that made me want to share is this because it is all part of seeking God: "I f there is one major, whopper, profound, can’t shout-it-out-loud enough thing that God is looking for from each one of us – it has...

GET CLOSER TO GOD

Hello! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a very Happy New Year! It is about time I did another post. As you know this past year has been wild and crazy, and scary and hard for so many people, well, most of us. And even though I had plenty of time to post a message, it just didn't happen. The news people have tried to scare everyone to death. So, we have those who will not leave their homes, and haven't since March. We have those who leave a little to buy groceries only. We also have those who leave a lot but wear masks and have stock in hand sanitizer and hand soap. Then last but not least we have those who very seldom wear a mask and do get away with it. It definitely has been very trying times. I am not saying any one way is best or wrong! We have to do what is right for us. This has actually been a stress on us. If we do go out the door we have to make sure we have a mask and hand sanitizer with us. We do our best to stay away from others as best we can. And som...

KNOW JESUS THROUGH HIS WORD

Good morning my readers! I praise God for you! If it wasn't for someone reading this blog, there would be no point in writing it! Even if only one person reads it and comes closer to Jesus because of it, then I praise the Lord and am thrilled. Grace to you and peace from God our  Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  Philippians 1:2 As I was sitting outside a little while ago in this beautiful, cooler morning, I was reading my devotion. I was struck by the notion that we really don't know Jesus. Or do we? We may have become a Christian years ago. We pray. We do our morning devotion, but do we really know Jesus, and understand Him, and seek Him.  Do we really know Him? Do we think we do? Do we read His Word every single day. But before we read His Word do we ask Him to fill us with the understanding He wants us to have? It is the Holy Spirit that teaches us and explains spiritual things to us. 13  This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom bu...

MY DAD AND ME

Image
Good morning! I haven't posted in a while because, well, lots of things have happened. My dad started getting weaker and weaker when he was stuck at my house for a month when Covid started. He was here  visiting  only a few days when all was shut down, church, visiting friends, restaurants, etc. That made him very depressed. And depressed to the point of wanting to sleep all the time. My sister and I finally gave in and did a Daddy drop-off in the northwest mountains of Georgia. I live in TN and she and Dad lived in NC. And this was about the half-way point. (In 2012 Dad and Loretta, my step-mom, moved away from here after living next door to us for 15 years.) Once Dad got home he did the same thing. He slept all the time. He never turned the TV on once from the day he left my house until the day he passed. He was a TV watcher but I know that at that point he was having a hard time understanding what was going on.  He also didn't want to get dressed or take a shower. It w...

PRAISE GOD!

Image
Gulf Shores in the morning Oct. 7, 2019 Good morning!  The Lord wants me to share with you about praising God! You might think "What to I have to praise Him about? My life is a shambles right now. There is this virus and we can't do anything but stay home." Well, help us Jesus. We are all in the same boat. We all have a totally different boat but we are, or at least most of us, staying home, staying out of trouble or harm's way. "Well, what do you mean by that?" Well, we all have our own lives to live that are totally different. We all have different situations. We can't avoid those situations. Well, maybe some of them we can. But those are for a different day. One thing we can all do is praise the Lord! A lot of us have a family at home with us. Praise the Lord! And with that family at home we have the opportunity spend quality time together, to teach life lessons, to sit and cuddle that we don't always have time to do, and bond ...
