WORK HARD
Good morning!
How are you this fine holiday Monday! Just what is Labor Day anyway? We see holidays on the calendar. We have work off on this holiday every year, if we work. But what actually is it?
Labor Day in the United States is a holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It is a celebration of the American labor movement
and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. It
constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have
made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country. (from wikipedia.com)
I used to think Labor Day had to do with the military but it doesn't. Now those in the military do work of course. So, it includes them. So, this holiday celebrates those who work. Now days we really should celebrate those who work because there are so many who don't. And some who could but won't. Now I know that it is hard to find a job.
Sometimes you have to take whatever job that you can find. You can't be picky. I remember when we were young and our kids were little. My husband was out of work for a while in his profession. He did whatever he could to bring money home for his family. And sometimes that is what we have to do. We may not like our job. We may not want to do our job. But we do it because it is the right thing to do. And if we don't complain and we work hard and praise God for the job, some day God might intervene and open the door for something better or something that we even like. God's will be done!
Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Colossians 3:23
Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. 2 Chronicles 15:7
Work hard, but not just to please your
masters when they are watching. As slaves of Christ, do the will of
God with all your heart. Work with enthusiasm, as though you were
working for the Lord rather than for people. Ephesians 6:6
Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast,
immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know
that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58
And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God. Ecclesiastes 3:13
For the people worked with all their heart. Nehemiah 4:6
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. 2 Chronicles 15:7
The man who plants and the man who waters
have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own
labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's
building. 1 Corinthians 3:8-9
