OBEY HIM

Good morning on this blessed Friday!

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.

2 John 1:3

The snow and ice are gone. I am glad. Even though my Dad and Step-mom don't live next to us anymore, they have had snow and ice also. Even more than we have. Dad has fallen twice. The first time he hit his head on the concrete. He was walking to the mail box. This time was the day before yesterday. He didn't go to the dr. but it hurt really a lot. Yesterday he went to the dr. since he didn't sleep all night. And he found out that it is broken. He slipped in the Walmart parking lot. Bless his heart. I don't want him to hurt and there is nothing I can do but pray for him. Please do that also. Although I do know prayer is the best thing. Prayer is a command for a Christian.

It was brought to my attention yesterday that our first commandment from God (in the new testament) in the New Covenant is:

He (Jesus) answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "
Luke 10:27

But, as this is true, we must actually do this first:

"You must faithfully keep all my commands by obeying them, for I am the LORD.
Leviticus 22:31

But I lavish my love on those who love me and obey my commands, even for a thousand generations.
Exodus 20:6

The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight to life.
Psalm 19:8

Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly.
Luke 1:6

This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.
Revelation 14:12

So, let's first obey God's commands and then as we do that we need to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength as part of fulfilling the command.

Have a ridiculously wonderful day in the Lord!

Love,
     Les
