INTIMACY
Good morning!
One of the Bible studies we are doing is talking about the first couple of chapters of Genesis and the Fall. It is so interesting that satan lied and Eve who was perfect and knew God intimately as one of the two only people created, could be deceived as she was by satan. We can only pray that as we get to know God intimately each day, that we would not be deceived as Eve was. But you know what, we do. We do things we shouldn't and don't do things we should every day even when we have that relationship with God through Jesus Christ that He wants us to have. Oh Lord forgive us!
I pray that God would help me to give Him more time. I pray that He would help me be more obedient to Him. And He is doing these things a little each day but we will not completely have those answers until we get to our mansions in heaven. Because here on earth we will always have the distractions that we won't have in heaven. Jesus will be our all in all. Our King of kings and our Lord of lords. And we will never stop worshiping, praising and loving Him full time there. We will not give ourselves full time to Him here on earth. We have too many excuses. And obviously we do have obligations here on earth after God. We have our homes and family and friends and jobs and things that seem to matter more than God.
Somehow, someway there has got to be a balance where we put God where He should be, first place, and then everything else falls into place where they should be. But it is so hard to find that balance. I guess that is another prayer request. We have so many prayer requests. They never end.
But what is so awesome about prayer requests is that is time with Jesus, talking to Him and sharing our deepest needs and desires with Him. And that right there is being intimate with Him and that is where we need to be.
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:8
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, you are
my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints
for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have
looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise
you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up
my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my
mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
Psalm 63:1-11
Have a marvelous day!
