JOY IN OUR HEARTS
Good morning to you!
Praying that your day is blessed. Mine sure is and I know that mine will finish that way because I trust God to fill me with joy no matter what the circumstances are. Are you filled with the joy of the Lord which is our strength? Joy is also the second of the Fruits of the Spirit. Remember the song, "I have joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart." Maybe we can sing that every day:
This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve,
for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Nehemiah 8:10b
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you
face trials of many
kinds, because you know
that the testing of your faith develops
perseverance.
James 1:2-3
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness
How can you not be filled with joy? Joy is a gift from God.
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls” 1 Peter 1:6-9
Some of these verses talk about the fact that we don't see Jesus in the flesh but we still love Him and believe in Him and because of that we are filled with joy. So, even though we don't feel joyful we can still be filled with His joy. I would say it is a gift from God. It might be even a choice that we make even though we have His joy in our heart. I would like to think that I am joyful all the time because I have Jesus living in my heart.
Let us make the choice to show the joy of Jesus no matter what.
