ALL IS WORK FOR GOD
Good Monday morning!
Praying that all is well with you. Did you have a blessed weekend? We sure did. Had a bit of rain. On Saturday my husband worked and then came home and he cut up and we hauled the tree that fell in our yard, in the very early AM Friday, to the burn pile and stacked the firewood from it. What a mess! Now we just need to call a gutter guy to come out and fix the gutter on the house that the tree hit.
So, today is going to be catch-up. There are so many things that I have neglected to do at home. Not everyday or weekly stuff, but just things that need to be done that I haven't done. There seems to be so much to do in a home not just inside but outside. And if you don't do it, eventually the house might fall down around you. Sometimes it is so overwhelming that you don't do anything. And that is a mistake.
We must take care of whatever God has given us. I believe that starting with children we must teach them to take care of their toys. Even though we live in a throw-away world, that is no excuse for not taking care of everything in our lives. We must keep things clean and well-oiled, so to speak. In other words, fix what is broken and clean it up.
That is so true in our lives. We don't just throw our husband or wife or friend or a job away, and then go find another. We work to make it work. Life is not easy, whether it is marriage or a job or friendship or whatever it may be. It takes work, hard work to make a relationship work.
The definition of work is:
noun
noun: work; plural noun: works; plural noun: the works
- activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result."he was tired after a day's work in the fields"
synonyms: labor, toil, slog, drudgery, exertion, effort, industry, service; informalgrind, sweat, elbow grease;literarytravail"a day's work in the fields" - mental or physical activity as a means of earning income; employment."I'm still looking for work"
synonyms: employment, a job, a position, a situation, a post; More an occupation, a profession, a career, a vocation, a calling;wage labor;tasks, jobs, duties, assignments, projects;chores"I'm looking for work"
In the definition of work, it is labor, toil, slog, drudgery, exertion,
chore, duties, effort and so on. No one said life would be easy but we do it anyway. We work at
it. We try hard. We give our best. That is what God would want us to
do. We don't give up! And we don't complain!
Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
Proverbs 13:4
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.2 Thessalonians 3:10-12
For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.
Philippians 2:14-15
Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be
blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a
crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the
world,
1 Corinthians 10:31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
And to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.Colossians 3:24
Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.I hope you understand all this. It is a little long but I hope says a lot. We must honor God in all that we do and not give up.
Have a wonderful day!
