BE A DISCIPLE OF HIM


 
A lot of people may not live for God in Miami but 
it is a beautiful city. And the beauty is God's!

 
Greetings on this beautiful Saturday!
I pray you had a blessed week. I sure did. God is so good. After Jesus died on the cross, rose again (yeah!), and ascended into Heaven He sent Another, the Holy Spirit, as our Counselor, our Helper, our Guide, the Spirit of Truth. And I have been studying Him this morning. 

I was getting ahead in my discipleship Bible study. That is the best study ever. Well, there are many "best studies ever" but this is really great and awesome and all that. It is very long, 25 weeks or so but it is worth every moment of it. And we are not doing it every week but biweekly and we have missed a few weeks for one reason or another. So, as you can see it will be even longer. But that is okay. I have realized how much we don't know and aren't taught about being a disciple of Christ. Just being a Christian doesn't make you a disciple.

A disciple is one who responds in faith and obedience to the gracious call to follow Jesus Christ. Being a disciple is a lifelong process of dying to self while allowing Jesus Christ to come alive in us. (That is the definition in this Bible study.) And there is a whole lot to that. 25 lessons to be exact. 

But as I said yesterday, I want to be better today than I was yesterday. 

I love my Jesus and I want to live like I belong to Him. I hope that you want to do that also.

and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
1 Corinthians 3:23

If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Romans 14:8

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. 
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:6-7

Let's give our heart to Jesus and live for Him and belong to Him.

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. I was born at the beach (a town at the beach). I lived near the beach for about 15 of my growing up years. My grandparents built a house in Malibu, CA overlooking the ocean when I was a kid. DROUGHT

  Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
