DEPEND
Good morning!
We are going to have one of those extremely busy and stressful weekends this week. So, much going on in our lives and we just can't do it all. I even had to say no to seeing my grandchildren and family because of all the other activities I already said yes and committed to. When you are committed to something you need to do it. You have people depending on you. And that is how I need to do it.
My devotion this morning had this scripture and it was so good. I am using this version of the Bible because it is so plain and understandable.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 Living Bible (TLB)
7 I will say this: because these experiences I had were so tremendous, God was afraid I might be puffed up by them; so I was given a physical condition which has been a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to hurt and bother me and prick my pride. 8 Three different times I begged God to make me well again. 9 Each time he said, “No. But I am with you; that is all you need. My power shows up best in weak people.” Now I am glad to boast about how weak I am; I am glad to be a living demonstration of Christ’s power, instead of showing off my own power and abilities. 10 Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite happy about “the thorn,” and about insults and hardships, persecutions and difficulties; for when I am weak, then I am strong—the less I have, the more I depend on him.
And some days I feel so weak with the little quirks going on in my body as I age. But I know that God is with me and that I have to depend on Him. I try to do it fully, but sometimes I blow it. I guess that is where God's love and grace come in. I know that I need to give my all to Him and trust Him to work out the details and take care of me, counting on Him.
Philippians 3:9
and become one with him, no longer counting on being saved by being good enough or by obeying God’s laws, but by trusting Christ to save me; for God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith—counting on Christ alone.
So, as we live each day, let's try harder to depend on God for all things in our lives, to count on Him and make each day count.
God doesn't break His promises.
Matthew 28:20b NLT
"And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Have a spectacular day!
