DRAW ME LORD


Good morning to you!

I pray that all is well with you on this 
beautiful day that the Lord has made!
For some reason (I did pray for God to tell me what to write here) the song with the words "draw me nearer Lord" has been on my mind this morning. It is I am Thine, Oh Lord. Here are the lyrics.
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Now this would be considered a traditional hymn. A lot of people now days, especially younger folk, are not too thrilled with the traditional hymns. But if they would just listen to the words and worship on them, then just maybe they would appreciate what God is saying through them.

The point though, is there has been many times in my life where I was going through difficulties and in order to get through them I had to draw nearer to God. You have probably heard the saying: If God seems far away, it is not Him Who moved.

Sometimes just the day to day responsibilities keep us from God. Maybe difficulties we have keep us away from God because we are dwelling on those things and not on Him. Maybe we just are feeling like we don't need Him anymore in our lives. 

Whatever our excuse for turning from God, we need Him nearer. We need our focus on Him and not other stuff. If we keep our focus on Him, then the other stuff might just be a little easier to handle with Jesus by our side instead of us being far away. Just remember it is not Him Who turned away. 

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified 
because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; 
he will never leave you nor forsake you.” The Lord 
himself goes before you and will be with you; he 
will never leave you nor forsake you. 
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:6, 8 

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the 
devil, and he will flee from you.  Come near 
to God and he will come near to you.
James 4:7-8a

VICTORY

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. DROUGHT

  Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
