KNOW HIM



Good morning to you!
May God bless you with his special favor and 
wonderful peace as you come to know 
Jesus, our God and Lord, better and better.
2 Peter 1:2

Don't you want God to bless you with His special favor and wonderful peace? I sure do. In order for that to happen we must come to know Jesus better and better as our God and our Lord.  I want to do that. I really do and I try each and every day. But isn't it true that sometimes in life it is one step forward and two steps backward for us? But then again maybe it wouldn't be like that if we come to know Jesus better and better.

So, I am going to try to be a better person in all the roles that I play: wife, mom, sister, daughter, etc. It isn't easy but Jesus will transform us a little each day if we strive to know Him better. Some days it is easy and some days it is not. Sometimes we show our true colors in circumstances beyond our control or even when they are in our control. And they shouldn't be in our control. As a Christian, in trying to live right we should give everything to God and let Him be in control. But that is definitely easier said than done. We can try our best though.

My husband took me to a restaurant last night to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary since we didn't do it on our anniversary. Oh my! How awesome was that. God is so good to us and gave me a wonderful, loving husband who gave me this as a surprise. I love surprises and he doesn't usually do them. But he did this time and I praise God for it. It is not where we would go maybe for another 38 years. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

So, as we strive to live for Jesus and give everything in life to Him so He can be in control and handle it for us, He will bless us and give us things that we could never imagine. That is what special favor is. And He will do it for all of us as we come to know Him better and better.

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. I was born at the beach (a town at the beach). I lived near the beach for about 15 of my growing up years. My grandparents built a house in Malibu, CA overlooking the ocean when I was a kid.   Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
