FRIEND

Good morning!

I pray that you are great. I am. I have my son and family here. That is always the best thing ever. But you know Who the best One ever is, it is Jesus? He is our best friend in a very reverent kind of way.

John 15:15

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:14

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

He will be our best friend ever if we give our lives to Him.  And He is! He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Proverbs 18:24

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Jesus died on a cross for the whole world's sins.

Isaiah 53:4-5

Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

Let Jesus be your friend today! Take these words to heart from the song: What a friend we have in Jesus.

  1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
    What a privilege to carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
  2. Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
  3. Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
  4. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
    Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
    Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
    Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
And remember this newer song: I am a Friend of God

Have a very blessed day!
