Be Bold, Be Strong



I am ready for the beach and I don't think we are going this year!

I pray that you have a blessed day today! On the road again but I want to share this devotion with you. God is great and awesome all the time. Remember that always!


The Lord said to Joshua, “Be strong and courageous.”

Today's Devotional

I was a very young man when I entered Bible college to prepare for full-time ministry. I felt inadequate for the demanding work that lay ahead. Who was I to imagine that I could be a leader and pastor of God’s people? But throughout my time in college, we spoke a lot about Joshua’s experience. I realized that Joshua probably felt the same as I did when he was faced with the challenge of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land. Maybe that is why Moses repeatedly urged him to be strong and courageous. He was keenly aware that by himself he lacked the resources for the demands of leadership in the years ahead. Joshua knew his limitations.
As we face the challenges of our day, we too may feel inadequate and weak. But God still calls us to serve. It remains true that “God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong” (1 Cor. 1:27). But it is also still true that whom God calls God also equips. God’s grace is sufficient for every task.

When God calls us, God equips us.
Prayer: Gracious God, as you call us into your service we ask for courage and compassion, that we may fulfill the tasks you assign to us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

VICTORY

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. I was born at the beach (a town at the beach). I lived near the beach for about 15 of my growing up years. My grandparents built a house in Malibu, CA overlooking the ocean when I was a kid. DROUGHT

  Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
