JOY OF THE LORD

Good morning!

How are you doing on this 3rd Sunday of Advent? I pray very well.

Here I am at 3 AM having moved to the couch from the bed. I can't sleep again. This gets old especially since I am so tired. It seems as though I complain a lot. I don't complain about a lot. But losing sleep is really one time I do. Especially when the days are so busy and I am exhausted.

Last night was our church Christmas Party. It was lots of fun and the food was good and the fellowship was even better. We had a Chinese gift swap with gag gifts but most of the gifts weren't gag gifts. But ours were and we were a little embarrassed. We were told gag gifts. Oh well. Live and learn.

On this 3rd Sunday of Advent, we celebrate joy. Remember:

Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Nehemiah 8:10

The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
Psalm 19:8

For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD; I sing for joy at the works of your hands.
Psalm 92:4

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Psalm 95:1

Do you sing for joy to the Lord? Do you have joy in your heart? Are you singing for joy at the works of His hands? If not, let the joy of the Lord be your strength. Let Him fill you with joy. It is a choice you know. We can either be filled with joy or we can whine and complain and be miserable. God gives us joy if we let Him and then don't ignore it. He has done great things for us. He has blessed us beyond measure. He is our All in all. He is our King of kings and Lord of lords. He is Who we have when we feel we have nothing. He is everything!

I pray that the remainder of this Advent/Christmas season will be joyous and filled with His love. That He will fill you to overflowing with His precious Spirit. And that your heart would be changed forevermore.

Have an awesome day!

Love,
      Les (lesbear)
