SEEK THE LORD
Good morning on this 1st Sunday of Advent!
Did you have a great Saturday? We got a lot of work done on the house. Mind you we are just tearing it apart. Having never done a renovation before, I hear it takes more time to move stuff and tear it up than it does to do the work. We'll see. I was so tired when I went to bed but here I am at 2 AM having moved to the couch. Ugh!
And why is it that when you do redo something in the house you find things that don't work and you have to do more redo-ing than you originally planned for now? Oh well. I will get more done than I thought. Praise the Lord for that!
At church we have the Hanging of the Green service tonight and the lighting of the first Advent candle this morning. This is the start of the prettiest season of the year inside the church and my home. Well, maybe not my home this year but maybe I will have time to do some decorating before the 24th. We'll see.
As we anticipate the birthday of our Lord and King, Jesus, what wonder will we see this year? Will we become closer to Jesus, will we accept Him as our Savior, will we just glory in the wonder of the Lord and how awesome He is? What a great time to really seek Him with all our heart. To truly worship Him in spirit and in truth.
But if from there you seek the LORD your
God, you will find him if you look for him with
all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 4:29
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of
those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the
LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
1 Chronicles 16:10-11
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I
seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty
of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Psalm 27:4
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts
of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Psalm 105:3
Yet a time is coming and has now come when
the true worshipers will worship the Father
in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of
worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his
worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
John 4:23-24
And then seeking Jesus and worshiping Him in spirit and truth for the Christmas season will put us where we need to be in the days to come and then beyond this season.
I want to see where Jesus birthday takes me this year. How about you?
Have a miraculous day!
