MAKE MUSIC

It is wonderful isn't it?

The Lord made music for a reason. Of course, we don't know what, who, why or where the very first music came from but I know that God had a very special place in our hearts for music. At least He did for me. Some people don't care for music although I am not sure why anyone would not like music. But I know that there are some people who don't.

When I was teaching music in the school, I actually had children who didn't like music. But when I asked if they listened to music, they would say that there parents didn't like it and would make them turn it off. I can not imagine.

I would have beautiful music on all the time but of course there are times when we do need some quiet.

In the Psalms, there is much poetry about playing musical instruments so obviously it was an important part of life, especially King David's life. Many of the verses in Psalms were written for the Director of Music. But there is also mention of music in many other books of the Bible.

"Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers! 
I will sing to the LORD, I will sing; I will 
make music to the LORD, the God of Israel.
Judges 5:3

[For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord. 
He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the
 hand of Saul. He said:] I love you, O LORD, my strength.
Psalm 18:1

The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like 
the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For 
the director of music. On my stringed instruments.
Habbakuk 3:19

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual 
songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
Ephesians 5:19 

So, praise the Lord in every way and turn on the music, in your car, in your home, on your phone or music player. Whatever you have that plays music. I only listen to Christian music except at Christmas time and I like most kinds then. 

But music also makes my heart sing like the sunshine. So, let your heart sing for Jesus.

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. I was born at the beach (a town at the beach). I lived near the beach for about 15 of my growing up years. My grandparents built a house in Malibu, CA overlooking the ocean when I was a kid. DROUGHT

  Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
