CONTENTMENT

Good morning on this great and beautiful pre-spring day!
It is not warm but the last few days were. It is not spring but it will be one week from today. It is not cold but it is still 31*. It is much colder and still snowing in many other places. But it will be up to 51* today and it will be partly cloudy so it will be pretty. You know, we should be satisfied no matter what the circumstance, the weather, our jobs, no money, our homes, our families, our life or where we live. But are we?

No, I think not, but we should be. Writers in these books of the Bible say these things:

But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 
1 Timothy 6:6-7

A tranquil heart is life to the body, But passion is rottenness to the bones.
Proverbs 14:30

If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Job 36:11

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9

Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,"
Hebrews 13:5

Do all things without grumbling or disputing;
Philippians 2:14   

give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.  
1 Thessalonians 5:18

I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.  I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do everything through him who gives me strength.  
Philippians 4:10-13

So, we can do all of these things through Christ and trust God so that we do not grumble with discontentment. 

It is not easy to do but with God's help we can do it. Let's try and see what God will do!

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. I was born at the beach (a town at the beach). I lived near the beach for about 15 of my growing up years. My grandparents built a house in Malibu, CA overlooking the ocean when I was a kid.   Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
