DEPEND ON HIM
Good morning to you!
Hope you had a blessed day! We leave from the mountains to go home today. This retreat was a clergy spouse retreat. We had a great time just visiting and catching up after not seeing most of these ladies for a year, the last retreat.
You may not have thought of this before but pastor's wives are a unique group of women. The pastor, kind of, has all the attention in a church where the wives are just kind of there, supporting and praying for their husbands, of course, but alone nonetheless. Especially in the Methodist church where pastors move around a bit, you don't make friends unless you are in the church a very long time. All this to say that a pastorate family really needs prayer. It is a different life. It is a great life but very different.
Serving God in this way is really awesome. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Depending on Him is essential for all of us but also in this situation.
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Lowborn men are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie; if weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. Do not trust in extortion or take pride in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong,
and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.
Psalm 62:5-12
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
Have a terrific day!
