GOD'S GRACE
Good morning on this fine Wednesday!
Grace and peace to you from God our
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:3
Blessings to you! Our discipleship Bible study is on grace today. Wow! The lesson is about the prodigal son. It is amazing! Of course, we know that God is amazing.
The prodigal son wants what is coming to him when his father dies, but he wants it now. The father graciously gives it to him. The son leaves and blows all he was given in sinful living. When he becomes the lowest of the low, he realizes that he did wrong to God and his father and decides to go home. He practices and says to his father:
I will set out and go back to my father and
say to him: 'Father, I have sinned against
heaven and against you. I am no longer
worthy to be called your son; make
me like one of your hired servants.’
Luke 15:18-19
Although he doesn't say to his father:
"make me like one of your hired servants."
He thinks better of it. Anyway, when the son gets a long way from home but close enough, his father sees him, has great compassion, and picks up his cloak, runs, and falls on the son's neck and kisses him. Then the son repents to his father. The father has the servants put his best robe, the family ring, and great shoes on the son and has a great feast for him. The father says:
Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s
have a feast and celebrate. For this son
of mine was dead and is alive again;
he was lost and is found.’
Luke 15:23-24a
Wow! What grace the father has shown the son. And what grace our heavenly father shows us who repent and come to Him. We have sinned and when we give our lives to Him, he gives us His best, He forgives us. God gave His All, His Son, for us on the cross. What amazing grace!
Think about it and if you don't know Jesus as your Savior, God gave His All for you.
NO JESUS, NO PEACE
KNOW JESUS, KNOW PEACE
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for
you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9a
Have a wonderful day!
