HELP OTHERS

Good morning on this great Friday!

How are you today? I am great. My husband is home safe and sound. Again, I am so proud of him for taking the time and effort to go to Oklahoma to help with the relief effort. And effort it was. He also took 138 pictures. Oh, my! You wouldn't believe it. Seeing it on TV is nothing compared to the pictures he took. I think that I will share a couple of them with you.

They started out working in Moore, OK and then moved on to Shawnee, OK which is the community where they stayed. The tornado there was the day before the Moore tornado but wasn't quite as extensive but still devastating. It was grueling work. Fortunately, the weather was cloudy and rainy and stormy the whole week but it cooled the air down some which made it easier to work. Albeit, humid, they got a lot of work done.

And do not forget to do good and to share with
others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Hebrews 13:16

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
not looking to your own interests but each
of you to the interests of the others.
Philippians 2:3-4

If anyone has material possessions and sees a
brother or sister in need but has no pity on them,
how can the love of God be in that person?
1 John 3:17

It looks like a war zone doesn't it? Well, the outpouring of love was amazing my husband said. There was 1000's of cases of water donated as well as food, toiletries, and just about anything you can think of. He counted people there from 27 states working to help make life better for the people of these communities. He stayed at and worked out of a Church of Christ. Ate lunches and got supplies from a Baptist Church. The people of the community came there every day for supplies because they didn't have a home to go to. The first two pictures were in a subdivision of about 200 homes and they were most all destroyed completely. Nothing left. I can't imagine having nothing left.

That is where we need God. When we have nothing left, He is there to pick up the pieces of our lives and help to put it back together one piece at a time, one day at a time. My heart goes out to the people of these communities who have lost everything. May they find Jesus and depend on Him for their every need. Pray for them and for the people who have given of themselves day in and day out because they feel God calling them to do it. And they answered "yes".  Praise God!

Have a fantastic day!
