GOD'S RENEWAL

Good morning and happy first day of Spring!

I am so thrilled to feel and see the beginnings of Spring, although, we are looking for some rain and cooler weather. When the first day of spring comes, we hope that the first weekend of spring is pretty and warm because we have all these ideas of what we can do outside. Well, the forecast for this first weekend is rain most of the weekend. I wish it would be different but God knows best. Maybe this weekend can be a day of renewal spiritually. Then on Easter weekend we can get out and work outside

Spring also brings allergies to many people. I have heard that this spring may be a record worst time for allergy sufferers. Ugh! I am one of them. Although, many people are suffering already. But I praise God mine are not too bad right now. I do get allergy shots. So, that may be why I am not hit yet. Or the things that I am allergic too haven't shown their faces yet. Another reason to depend on God.

We were therefore buried with him through baptism
into death in order that, just as Christ was raised
from the dead through the glory of the Father,
we too may live a new life.
Romans 6:4

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though
outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly
we are being renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16

Let God renew you and refresh your soul and your mind and your body today. # 7 of the sabbaths (days of worship and rest) I have been talking about for several days is: Put up a hummingbird feeder, or a finch feeder, and let the show begin. As Anne Lamott writes, "I think joy and sweetness and affection are a spiritual path. We're here to know God, to love and serve God, and to be blown away by the beauty and miracle of nature."

#8 is: Take a walk with your dog, your guide to unnoticed marvels, and let him set the pace. "Days pass, years vanish, and we walk sightless among miracles." (from a penitential prayer offered in Jewish homes at the start of Sabbath).

So, take the time to watch the birds and walk the dog and read God's Word, so that you can be filled with His Spirit and His wonder in the days ahead.

...and have put on the new self, which is being
renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
Colossians 3:10

Have a beautiful first spring day!
