COURAGEOUS
Good morning to you!
May this day be a blessing to you because God is so good and He loves you so much. I didn't talk about our Ladies Conference yesterday. I was still processing the words that were brought to us by our speaker, who this year was our pastor's wife. It was awesome!
Everything was so beautiful, decorations-wise, and the music was wonderful. It was just all around great. This years theme was Becoming A Woman of Courage. Our speaker talked about how as woman we can be all God wants us to be without fear or condemnation but with love and faith. Fear and condemnation do not come from God. He is not like that. The evil one is who put those things into our minds. But with God in our lives, we are filled with love and have faith. And that faith is in the One True God.
Our speaker talked about three woman in the Bible who had courage. They were Esther, Rahab, and Mary, the mother of Jesus. They gave their life to God and were given the courage to do what God called them to do. I won't look at all three but will just say a little about Mary.
Can you imagine how she felt when the angel told her she was going to have a baby, a special Baby of the Holy Spirit? She could have freaked out and lost it. But she didn't! She only asked how.
Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the
Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”
Luke 1:38
Mary said let it be. She at that point she took on courage for this circumstance and let God use her as the vessel of the Son of God. How awesome is that?
There are so many times when God wants us to do something that we might say no or I can't do that or I don't want to do that or I am not doing that or I am doing this instead. All those answers are against the will of God. We need to get out of our comfort zone and be courageous and willing to do what God wants and not let our wills get in the way of God's. We don't need to argue with God but put Him first and foremost and just do it.
The saying goes: God does not call the equipped, He equips the called. So, when He calls us to do something He will prepare us and equip us for the job He wants us to do. We need to have courage to do it. Remember He will supply all our needs. And at this point, when God calls us to do something, the needs He supplies are the "what and the how". We don't necessarily have to know the why. Mary didn't ask why. She did ask how. The angel told her how and she said to let it be.
Then shortly thereafter, Mary praised and worshiped God.
And Mary said:
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with His arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
54 He has helped His servant Israel,
In remembrance of His mercy,
55 As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and to his seed forever.”
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with His arm;
Luke 1:46-55
So, we need to listen to God, trust Him, and do what He says. And praise and worship Him the whole way. Because he will equip us and give us the courage to do whatever He has called us to do.
Have a fantastic day!
