IN CHRIST

Good morning to you!

Last night we drove to our son and daughter-in-laws to see our oldest grandson in a play at church called Go Go Jonah. It was so good. They go to a very large church and the things they can do for a production like that are amazing. Anyway, it was wonderful. It was a children's choir play and my daughter in law was the stage director as well as the narrator. Our grandson knew every word and his actions are so animated even doing actions when he didn't need to. It was so sweet!

So, we got home very late last night in which I was able to sleep in a little. My poor husband still has to get up early and go to work even when we get in late. So, he really has to trust in Christ alone especially on days like that.

I am going to tell you about a beautiful song called In Christ Alone that modern hymn writers, Keith and Kristyn Getty perform. He actually wrote this arrangement with another man in 2002. It is so beautiful. You have to hear it. You may have heard it by Owl City or many others. The words are awesome.

The first line of the song:

In Christ alone my hope is found;

It comes from these two scriptures:
I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion;   therefore I will wait for him.”
Lamentations 3:24

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.
 1 Timothy 4:9-10

The second line of the song and scriptures:

He is my light, my strength, my song;

Then Moses and the Israelites sang this 
song to the LORD: “I will sing to the 
LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse 
and its rider he has hurled into the sea.
       The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
Exodus 15:1-2

I am not going to go into the rest of the song. You can listen to it yourself. But the words are amazing as I said God's Word is yesterday.

Many people don't like contemporary Christian music. But it is wonderful. There are so many awesome songs. Don't get me wrong, I love hymns also. But as far as listening to music, this is what I prefer to listen to. 

When I was a teenager, my parents hated my music. It was always turn that stuff (noise) off, or turn it down. So, our music likes were very far apart. But now I listen to the same music that my kids listen to and I love it. It does give us much more in common. And it is wonderful that my daughter-in-law is a singer. She doesn't sing as much as she used to with the kids and all. She comes from a musical family. And she has a beautiful voice.

But music helps me to worship God. Music brings me into the presence of God. And that is where I wish to be. Is your hope in Christ alone?

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. DROUGHT

  Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
