COMMIT

Good morning on this great Sabbath Day!

I pray that you have had a great week also.

But may all who seek you rejoice and
be glad in you; may those who love your
salvation always say, "Let God be exalted!"
Psalm 70:4

We went to Georgia yesterday and picked out some hardwood floors. I am so excited. We have had our off-white carpet down for 22 years. I guess it is time, way past time. Actually, the carpet is not too bad for as old and traveled as it is. I mean it could be so much worse. The hard part is going to be taking it up. I just know it is glued down really well, at least the pad and the linoleum in the kitchen are. So, that should take a lot of elbow grease. We also hope to do it between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lord, help us!

So, I guess we are committed to doing it. Kind of like we are committed to God and His church. Or at least we should be. The moment we ask Jesus into our hearts we have made a commitment or covenant with Him. We are committing to this:

"Then he said to them all: "If anyone would
come after me, he must deny himself and
take up his cross daily and follow me." "
Luke 9:23

And He said this:

"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." "
Matthew 28:18-20

So, as Christians this is what we are to do. And these great things for us to do are not all there is but these are the basics. These things involve many other things. But most important is our love for Jesus and our obedience to Him.

Sometimes we have to renew our commitments and now is a great time to do that. And I think that with God's help I can do the very best I can to commit to this. How about you?

Have a miraculous day!
