OUR LIGHT


Good morning!
I hope that you had a blessed day yesterday. I sure did! God is great all the time. It was a busy day and a cold one but all went well in my busyness. The sun shone all day. And I pray that the Son shone all day in me. 

Does the Son shine all day in you? I know we have our moments but we need to let the light of Jesus shine in us all the time, whether we feel like it or not. It should be second nature in us, actually first nature. 

People do watch us. They are looking to see how we act and what we say as Christians. I think everyone watches us, not just non-Christians. People who know Jesus as their Savior also watch. They either want to know how we do it or what is so great about Christianity or if we are different. We should be different. Maybe even a little crazy and bold! For Jesus!
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, 
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should 
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you 
 out of darkness into his marvelous light:
1 Peter 2:9

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, 
and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a 
peculiar treasure unto me above all 
people: for all the earth is mine:  
Exodus 19:5

These verses don't mean we are to be weird as in what we think of the word peculiar, it means to be a special or treasured possession, definitely not strange or odd. And then as God's treasure we are to let our light shine.

Let your light so shine before men, that 
they may see your good works, and glorify  
your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 

You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; 
my God turns my darkness into light.
Psalm 18:28  

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
John 9:5 

So, Jesus is the Light of the world. And if we have Jesus in our heart, then He should shine through us. It seems so simple. But unfortunately we have a free, fleshly will and therefore we need to work really hard to keep the light of Jesus shining brightly within and without us. And it is hard. When we go through stuff it is hard to shine for Jesus. But you know what? We need to make a concerted effort to do it anyway because He is worthy and He loves us and we love Him.

So there it is:          " Let your light so shine before men."

We all can do it with God's help.

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. I was born at the beach (a town at the beach). I lived near the beach for about 15 of my growing up years. My grandparents built a house in Malibu, CA overlooking the ocean when I was a kid. DROUGHT

  Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
