GOD'S LOVE FOR US
Good morning!
I pray that all is well with you. I am enjoying it getting light earlier in the morning. That is a nice change. Although the early darkness in the evening, is really different. I am ready for bed about 8 PM. We tend to eat earlier and so therefore the evening is longer.
We have always been early eaters and early-to-bedders because I just can't eat supper close to bed time. It isn't good for you for one thing so I just don't like to do it.
Love! What is love? Well, perfect love is what God does to us. He showed us that by giving His Son unto death on the cross.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines love as "an intense affection for another person based on familial or personal ties". But how does God define love?
Whoever does not love does not
know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:8
For God so loved the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish , but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Know therefore that the LORD your God
is God; he is the faithful God, keeping
his covenant of love to a thousand generations
of those who love him and keep his commands.
Deuteronomy 7:9
So, God's love is in giving Himself to us. HE IS LOVE! It is a gift- a true and perfect Gift that He will never ask for back. Not as in asking for it back because He doesn't really love us or we have sinned so He can't love us. He does want it back as in we love Him with all of our heart and all of our soul and all of our mind and all of our strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. (Luke 10:27)
There are no conditions on God's love. We don't have to be perfect for Him to love us. He loves us anyway. Praise God!
But God demonstrates his own love
for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
How wonderfully amazing is His love for us! allaboutlove.com says: "We didn't have to get clean,
and we didn't have to make any promises to God before we could
experience His love. His love for us has always existed, and because of
that, He did all the giving and sacrificing long before we were even
aware that we needed His love."
Let's receive His love and then share it with all those around us. There may be people around us that we may think don't deserve God's love, but then neither do we. But God made a way and He loves us unconditionally, all of us.
Let us share that love and have a lovely day!
