PRAYING

If Jesus needed to pray,
how much more do we?

Good morning on this fine Monday!

May the God of the universe bless you today with all spiritual blessings!

One of the Bible studies we are doing is on prayer this week. Wow and wow some more! It started out talking about the Lord's Prayer. Not that I don't know how to pray. Well, maybe I don't so well.  I pray a lot of the time but it talked about praying differently. When we pray especially in intercessory prayer (for others and ourselves), we usually pray for material needs, such as, healing, job, families, or financial problems. And there is is nothing wrong with that but we don't pray as much for spiritual needs.

So, I will give you scripture prayers to give you food for thought on how it says we should pray for people. And then think about it. It makes real sense to me.

"do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayersthat the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saintsand what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might."
Ephesians 1:16-19

"that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner manso that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in lovemay be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depthand to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. "
Ephesians 3:16-19

"For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understandingso that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light."
Colossians 1:9-12

Wow! Isn't that powerful? I plan to pray this way every day from now on or at least strive to. Just think what a difference this could make in people's lives, in our lives.

I know it seems long but it would only take an extra minute to do this. You can change the "you's" to the people you are praying for.

I have already started this today and I pray that you will also. At least every once in a while.

Have a blessed day!
