PRAYING

 
If Jesus needed to pray, 
how much more do we?

Good morning on this fine Monday!

 May the God of the universe bless you today with all spiritual blessings!
One of the Bible studies we are doing is on prayer this week. Wow and wow some more! It started out talking about the Lord's Prayer. Not that I don't know how to pray. Well, maybe I don't so well.  I pray a lot of the time but it talked about praying differently. When we pray especially in intercessory prayer (for others and ourselves), we usually pray for material needs, such as, healing, job, families, or financial problems. And there is is nothing wrong with that but we don't pray as much for spiritual needs.  

So, I will give you scripture prayers to give you food for thought on how it says we should pray for people. And then think about it. It makes real sense to me.

"do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might."
Ephesians 1:16-19 

"that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. "
Ephesians 3:16-19 

"For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light."
Colossians 1:9-12  

Wow! Isn't that powerful? I plan to pray this way every day from now on or at least strive to. Just think what a difference this could make in people's lives, in our lives. 

I know it seems long but it would only take an extra minute to do this. You can change the "you's" to the people you are praying for. 

I have already started this today and I pray that you will also. At least every once in a while.

VICTORY

Saturday Good morning to you! The beach is waiting. I can't wait to get away. To rest. To regenerate. To be revived. And sometimes we just need to get away from our daily routine in order to do that. Get away from the phone and stuff like that. Unfortunately, with cell phones, these days we don't get away from the calls. It never fails that we go on vacation and always someone calls about my husband's work, either a person that works for him or someone wanting to get work done. But in all reality that is good. It means that the business is not dead. Praise the Lord for that! The beach does so much for me. I have the best time and the most relaxing time at the beach. I guess it is in my blood. I was born at the beach (a town at the beach). I lived near the beach for about 15 of my growing up years. My grandparents built a house in Malibu, CA overlooking the ocean when I was a kid. DROUGHT

  Good morning to you! Has it been raining where you are? It rained pretty good last night here. We need it. Actually we will take it all just so we aren't in the drought category. I saw on the weather yesterday that a lot of the country is in a severe drought.  Are you in a severe drought spiritually? I hope not but if you are, here are some scriptures that might help.
