DO NOT BE TROUBLED

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms;
if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going
there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare
a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with
me that you also may be where I am.”
John 14:1-3

Good morning to you! The year of 2012 is almost over. What are your plans for the last couple of days? What are your plans for the new year? Have you even thought about what your new year's resolutions might be? Do you even care? Have you asked God what His plans are?

Well, we know that we should not let our hearts be troubled. We shouldn't worry about these things. We should believe in God and also in Jesus. We also should know that God is preparing a place for us in Heaven and that He is going to come back and take us to where He is. How awesome is that? We should be looking forward to that with excitement and awe.

Went to the chiropractor yesterday. I have a slipped disk and have twisted something. All I know is that it hurts. There are certain things that I cannot do, things that I need to do. Oh my! It is amazing what your back does for you and how you use it. And then when you can't use it, how much you can't do. The funny thing is that I hurt my back a year ago and when the doctor looked at my chart yesterday, she said that I came in on the exact same day last year for a sore back. She said something like I must be allergic to Christmas or wrapped too many packages on the floor. Well, actually this year I put up a table and did most of them on the table. But the bigger things for my grandsons, I did wrap on the floor. I am getting too old for this. I guess that is where exercise comes in to keep our bodies strong.

Today is our son's 31st birthday. We were supposed to meet them in Knoxville but it hurts to ride in the car with the bouncing around and one of my grandson's has a sinus infection. I feel so bad that we can't do it.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.......

I also always bag up my Avon (I sell Avon products) on the floor. Sometimes my boxes of products are kind of heavy to lift up onto a table. I can drag the boxes inside the house but they don't usually get too far in, maybe 15-20 feet, and that is it. So, I do things that aggravate my back quite a bit. But lots of exercises from the physical therapist were given to me last time to do at home. I will start to do those soon.

I was exercising 5 days a week several months ago and eating really healthy. But with the busyness of life I kind of let both of them go. I must get back to it because they are detrimental to my health. As they are to all of us. They are very important in order to live a long life.

Say to him: ‘Long life to you! Good health to you and
your household! And good health to all that is yours!
2 Samuel 25:6

And if you walk in obedience to me and keep
my decrees and commands as David your father
did, I will give you a long life.”
1 Kings 3:14

I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will
sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Psalm 104:33

“So that it may go well with you and that
you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
Ephesians 6:3

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the
Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received
from God? You are not your own; you were bought
at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s
temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17

So, if we take care of our bodies and use them for the glory of God, sing praise to the Lord all our lives, and walk in obedience to God and keep His commands, we shall live a long life and all will go well with us. How awesome is that?

Let us vow to do these things in the new year, kind of like a new year's resolution, only keep it. How many resolutions have we made that we tried for a little while and then lost interest and forgot about them or they were too hard to keep, so we quit?

Shall we not let our hearts be troubled, wait on the coming of our Lord in excitement, and take care of our bodies as they are His temple? And He will keep His promises to us, for He loves us and gave Himself for us.

Have a blessed day!
