WORRY

Good morning to you this bright and beautiful morning!

I pray you slept well. I did until 2 AM. I tossed and turned and got up and laid down. I finally got up and cleaned my closet and part of our room. Then I turned the TV on and watched part of a Christmas movie. A little after 5 I turned the TV off and did go back to sleep. My husband woke me up at 6 to say goodbye and I slept until 7. I am feeling a little tired but life goes on. With God's help this will be an awesome day.

Are you a worrier? This is what God's Word says:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
 Matthew 6:25-34

Well, that says it all. We should not worry. Did you know that worry can be a sin? The dictionary says that worry is "to torment oneself with or suffer from disturbing thoughts; fret." It depends how far you carry it whether it is a sin. Being concerned about a person or situation is one thing but worry is something else.

For example, worry is usually focusing on negative things only, that can lead to anxiety and even depression. A person that hates public speaking might worry so much that they have an anxiety attack.

Here is a few more scriptures about worry or anxiety.

Anxiety weighs down the heart,
    but a kind word cheers it up.
Proverbs 12:25

 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty
hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast
all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
 1 Peter 5:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

If you are a worrier, try to give it to God. Pray about it and don't take your worry back from God. Let God give you peace. Read His Word and praise Him and thank Him. These things will take your focus off your worry and put it on Jesus which is where it belongs and soon you will have peace. It is hard to do this sometimes. We live in an upside-down world where stress, worry, and anxiety seem to take over lives. But follow Christ and receive His peace especially during this Christmas season. Remember Jesus loves you!

“‘“The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
 the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
 the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.”’
Numbers 6:24-26

Have a peaceful day!
