HIS PRESENCE AND HIS PRESENTS
Good morning on this great rainy day! We needed the rain so badly. I am praising God for the rain. We got home at midnight last night traveling in the rain. I woke up at 6 am to this glorious day!
We went to an excellent Christmas program last night at our son and daughter-in-law's church 2 hours away. It was a musical play with the choir, a small orchestra, the children's choir, a narrator, actors and scenes, and videos. Oh, it was wonderful! Our daughter-in-law sang a solo that was fabulous. Our oldest grandson sang with the children's choir. And it was so special! After the kids were finished with their songs, they sat down. I kept looking at our seated grandson every few minutes. I looked again and there he was sound asleep with his head on the little girl's shoulder to his left. It was the sweetest thing! He is in kindergarten and I know is so tired but with choir practice, school, and upward basketball practice, the poor little thing is exhausted. They are doing the musical again tonight. I know that God will be glorified and honored in that program as well as in all church Christmas programs around the world. The musical filled my heart with the love of Christ.
The message is clear. Jesus is the Messiah, born of a virgin. Seven hundred years before the birth of Christ, the prophet Isaiah said,
‘Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin
will be with child and bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel’
Isaiah 7:14
‘The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found
favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a
son, and you shall name him Jesus.”
‘Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?”
‘The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit, will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God. … For nothing will be impossible with God”’ Luke 1:26, 27, 30, 31, 34, 35, 37

The virgin will bear a child; Mary found favor with God; The Holy Spirit came upon her; She bear the Son of God; For nothing shall be impossible with God!
What a blessing that is for us! The Holy Spirit came upon Mary. She found favor with God. And nothing is impossible with God! The Holy Spirit can and will come upon us if we believe. And if we believe and live it, God finds favor with us, and nothing is impossible with God. What great news that is! God used Mary, a young girl, and God can use us also. He has a plan for our lives. We need to put our focus on Him so He can use us however He wishes. Since nothing is impossible with God, He can use us in awesome ways.
This Christmas, which is in 9 days, God can use you. Let Him put the joy of the Lord in your heart, the light of Christ in your life, and the gift of God's presence in your soul. Let His Spirit spill forth from you as you worship the Lord each day. And each day let the remembrance of these things fill you up to overflowing. Jesus will do that, you know? He is the giver of all good and perfect things.
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly
lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
Have a blessed day and a Merry Christmas!
