FAMILIES ARE A GIFT OF LOVE

Good morning! 2 days until
Jesus's birthday!

Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord! The baby in a manger. The Son of God. Our Lord and Savior. The Christ Child!

The names of Jesus abound. I can't off the top of my head name off all the names of Jesus or the names of God. But there are so many. And He is worthy of them all!

I have been looking at some exercise stuff online. Boy, I need to get back to it. I am so inconsistent. I was doing so well but when one thing comes up that changes my exercise routine, I have such a hard time getting back into it. I am definitely a creature of habit. I do really well until something takes me from my routine and sometimes it takes me months and lots of excuses to get back to it. With all this special eating going on at the holidays, it is really hard. So, another excuse. When Christmas has passed I can return to my routine. Ha!

I can't wait to see my family tomorrow. We won't all be here, but I am so excited to see our family and friends who will be here. It should be loads of fun. It is really fun when you have grandkids to share it with. They really make it special. Well, they make everything special. They are God's gift to grandparents. Of course, we aren't grandparents until we have grandchildren. Ah, the circle of life!

God gives us everything we have from the air we breathe and the world we live in to each other. He gives us family and friends to share our lives with. God is so awesome, isn't He?

As you spend these special days with loved ones, at some point read the Christmas story in Luke 2:1-20 to your family. We always do, usually Christmas morning either before or after opening gifts. Then after opening gifts we have a prayer of thanksgiving to God for His many blessings. He is so good all the time. How can anyone not count their blessings?

Today we will go to church on the 4th Sunday of Advent and worship the King with our church family and friends. How can anyone go through life with out this blessing? We see our church family much more often than our own family so we would certainly be lost without their love, care, and support. That is what families do for each other. We are so blessed to have a wonderful family and church family.

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
    offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
Psalm 127:3-5a

Grandparents are proud of their grandchildren,
just as children are proud of their parents.
Proverbs 17:6 GNT

Listen to your father, who gave you life,
and do not despise your mother when she is old.
Proverbs 23:22

Honor your father and your mother, so that
you may live long in the land the Lord
your God is giving you.
Exodus 20:12

This is just a small portion of the scripture about children and families. So, really, really enjoy the blessing of your family at Christmas. Have a great time. Laugh and love and enjoy each other because God put us all together for a reason. And He loves each of us the same and that is more than anything.

And this is my prayer: that your love may
abound more and more in knowledge and
depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able
to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the
fruit of righteousness that comes through
Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:9-11

Have a wonderful Sabbath day!
