LAUGH A LITTLE
Good morning!
How are you today? My back is a little sore. Had a hard time putting my socks on this morning. Ugh!
But you know I praise God for this glorious new day that He has made. And I will rejoice and be glad in it.
As I mentioned yesterday, our American Cancer Society Relay for Life team from church had a booth at the Downtown Christmas yesterday afternoon. We were selling chili petros, or frito pies as some call them. We also had drinks, ornaments, t-shirts, and bookmarks for sale. There were a lot of people there enjoying the festivities but not a lot of buying or eating going on. I didn't feel very good, so I left before it was over. Business might have picked up, I don't know. But times are tough for many people and many others just don't want to part with their money at this time. We really need to pray for our country, our communities, our neighborhoods, and our churches. As the song goes, People Need the Lord!
I sit here writing this blog in front of my lit-up Christmas tree. It is so pretty even though our pre-lit tree has a few strands of lights out. We tried to fix it but just couldn't find the problem. When it is time to take the tree down we will deal with it. I would have done it before we put it up but that is okay. It is just a tree put up in order to celebrate the real reason for Christmas, Jesus Christ, Whom wise men still seek. I started wrapping packages yesterday. I got one package wrapped and one ready to mail. That was very productive. Hopefully I will do better today after church, before play practice and evening worship. LOL!
What a blessing humor is! God does have a sense of humor. And he gave a sense of humor to some of His people in order to lift up the spirits of those who don't. We need to laugh sometimes.
A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22
Rejoice in the Lord always;
again I will say, Rejoice.
Philippians 4:4
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will
take joy in the God of my salvation.
Habakkuk 3:18
A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by
sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.
Proverbs 15:13
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy; then
they said among the nations, “The Lord
has done great things for them.”
Psalm 126:2
So God wants us to laugh and be joyful and shout with songs of joy. He said it and He means it. It has been proven that people who are not joyful and don't ever laugh or smile are sick more and don't sleep as well. Let us try this Christmas to laugh and have fun more, to be joyful and smile more and let it last for all the days of our lives. Because it is good medicine. God says so!
Have a blessed day!
