ABIDE IN CHRIST
Good morning on this wonderful Sunday morning!
Blessings be upon you because you are blessed! And so am I! I arrived home safely yesterday. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
I was very tired but had a great trip. God showed me the beauty of His creation along the way. The scenery was breathtaking all the way home, well except before it got light yesterday morning. I left at 4 AM. Well, I guess it was I just couldn't see the beauty. Anyway, everything was so green and there was so much water everywhere. The redbuds are in full color and when I got to east Tennessee the dogwoods are in bloom. And the sky was so blue. It was so vividly colorful and I enjoyed it so much. Remember I said a few weeks ago to stop and smell the roses. Well, I did my best as I drove on and on for ten and a half hours. It was a wonderful trip. God is so good and faithful!
And then it was so great to see my husband. I love him so much. I always miss him a whole lot when I am gone and when I tell him that he says that I don't because I don't have time to miss him. Well, I do have time and I do miss him when I go out of town. It is just that he is not there. I miss his presence.
Do you miss God's presence when you fall away from Him! He never leaves us or forsakes us but when we feel as if God isn't with us, it is us who have moved, not Him. When things seem to be going really well, we don't talk to Him as much and kind of shove Him into the background of our lives. So, then we aren't praising Him and worshiping Him and talking to Him and then feel alone. We moved not Him.
May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our
ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
1 Kings 8:57
...because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”
never will I forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5b
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified
because of them, for the Lord your God goes with
you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
Three different places that I quickly found in God's Word that tell us that God will never leave us. We need to abide in Him all the time not just when things go haywire in our lives.
In the Hebrews scripture above, the writer is talking about greed and contentment and that we should know that God won't leave us even when we are not satisfied. But the idea is there that no matter what, God doesn't leave us. We have the assurance that God will stick by our side always.
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide
in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you
will abide in My love, just as I have kept My
Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
John 15:9-10
So, let's abide in His love and we won't move away from God. We will stay right next to His side that was pierced for our transgressions. Jesus is perfect and we are not. Abide in Him!
Have an awesome day!
