A NEW DAY

Good morning on the day after Independence Day!

Have you ever seen the movie Independence Day? I have seen most of it a couple of times but I am not sure I have ever seen the beginning. My husband has seen the movie several times but is not sure if he has seen the beginning every time either. It seems as though we don't get to the beginning very well.

At the end of the movie, it is the beginning of a new day. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, it is the beginning of a new day, a new life. When God created the earth, it was the beginning of a new day, the first day.

God called the light Day, and the darkness He called
Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis 1:5
The second day, the third day, and so on. Each day was a new day. In our lives now each day is a new day. When we make mistakes, we can ask God to forgive us and then the next day is a new day. We can start over anew, fresh each day.
Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim the
good news of His salvation from day to day.
1 Chronicles 16:23
Each day is a new day to start over and make our lives better than they were the day before. Just the same as when God made a new covenant. It was a new day to start over. The first covenant is obsolete and vanishes. But the new covenant was God's way of starting over, making a big change and giving the people another change at living for Him.
In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made
the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete
and growing old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 8:13

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then
no place would have been sought for a second.
Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold,
the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a
new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah
Hebrews 8:7-8

So, if we need to start over, we can. And in the new day we can try harder to love Jesus with all our heart, try harder to live for Jesus, try harder at our job, try harder at loving our families and others.

Jesus loves you and wants you to live life abundantly.

Have a fabulous day!
