SERVE HIM

Good morning to you!

God is an awesome God! I pray that you had a great Sunday attending church and spending time with your family. My husband is my family. When you have kids that don't live nearby, you feel so far apart. I feel like a part of me is missing and I guess in a sense that is true. So, when I get to spend time with them I am in heaven.

VBS is coming up. I am so excited for that. I love to teach and I am expecting God to do great things. We are doing Kingdom Rock. It will be great. And I am so looking forward to it. I really like doing it right before school starts. Everyone is back from vacation and getting ready for school. This gives a reprieve at the end of summer for the parents. Lord, please do awesome things and use us for Your service!

You shall fear the Lord
your God and serve Him, and
shall take oaths in His name.
Deuteronomy 6:13

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your
God require of you, but to fear the Lord
your God,to walk in all His ways and to
love Him, to serve the Lord your God with
all your heart and with all your soul,
and to keep the commandments of the Lord
and His statutes which I command
you today for your good?
Deuteronomy 10:12-13

And the people said to Joshua,
“The Lord our God we will
serve, and His voice we will obey!”
Joshua 24:24

Then Jesus said to him, “Away with
you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You
shall worship the Lord your God,
and Him only you shall serve.’”
Matthew 4:10

We need to serve God always and only Him. Not because of what we get out of it but because He is worthy and because we love Him. Serving God is not supposed to be a have-to thing. If we feel we have to, we are not doing it for the right reasons. It should be a get-to thing. Wow! I get to serve God today. I can't wait! It shouldn't be stressful. It shouldn't be painful. It shouldn't be in anger because only 3 of you are doing it instead of 10.

Not everyone is called to do the same things as we are. Everyone has different gifts. Not everyone is called to teach, or preach, or sing, or dance, or to show mercy. God has given each of us something different to do. But there are definitely times we need to do something for God that isn't our gift knowing that He will help us do it. He will equip us for the job at hand. And we need to pray and strive to figure out what our gift is and do it in service to the Lord.

OOO! We are supposed to sing!

Make a joyful noise unto
the Lord, all ye lands.
Psalm 100:1

God has called all of us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves, to pray without ceasing, to worship God and only Him, and to thank Him, praise Him, and serve and obey Him with all our heart and soul.

If we can strive to do those things, walking in all His ways, then He will say to us:

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good
and faithful servant! You have been
faithful with a few things; I will
put you in charge of many things.
Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Matthew 25:21

Have a great day!

Les
