GOD'S COUNTRY
Happy 4th of July!
The United States is the only country with a known birthday.

Hope you can celebrate the 4th today! Everything going on here in our county (2 shows) and our home church has been cancelled due to 3-5 inches of rain today. Oh me, oh my! So, new dates will be coming. One celebration that we always go to will not be until Labor Day weekend now. The other one will be Saturday night. And our home church one will be sometime soon. I don't know the date yet.
So, my husband and I will spend the day together and we are going to eat Shrimp Curry for supper. Yum! Yum! Not your usual 4th of July faire. We haven't made it in years and we don't remember which recipe book it is in but we will find it. We tried to buy the ingredients from memory. Oops!
Can't BBQ in the rain either. We have (oh I should say that he has) done that before and practically had the BBQ in the house. I just learned that a BBQ should be at least 10 feet from a structure. How many people have their BBQ's right outside the door. We do!
God bless America, land that I love,
Stand beside her, and guide her,
Through the night, with the light from above,
From the mountains, to the prairies
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home,
God bless America! My Home Sweet Home!

The 4th of July! Independence Day! It is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions,
and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other
public and private events celebrating the history, government, and
traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the National Day of the United States. (Taken from wikipedia)
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this
continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the
proposition that all men are created equal.

God Bless America! My Country Tis of Thee! America the Beautiful! Land of the free and the home of the brave! This is where we live. Where we are the greatest and freest nation on the planet. And yet we are not! We are slowly but surely losing our freedoms. This is certainly where we need to depend on God, our Creator.
America will never be destroyed from the outside.
If we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

It may not seem like it but He is in control. He knows the cries of our hearts and what is going on. But when He created us, He gave us free will. And if we choose not to follow Him, then we have to suffer the consequences. There are many lost people and people who have turned their backs on God and so here we are.
You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4,
not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White
House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where
kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from
happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.

We still live in God's country. He created it and He founded it. So, if we can remember that and trust Him for our future then we will be just fine. On our Independence Day, lets depend on God for our every breath and our every thing. He is great and He can handle it!
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do
not turn your
freedom into an opportunity for
the flesh, but through love serve one
another.
Galatians 5:13
Have an awesome day!
