HIS IMAGE
Good morning to you this great day!
The sun is shining. I am so thrilled. It is kind of hazy but that is okay. I can see the rays of the sun. The haze is humidity but I can live with that as long as the sun shines. I praise the Lord. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.
I have talked about the Son (Jesus) shining on us and through us before, so I don't want to get into that again right now. But are others seeing the face of Jesus in us. I hope so because that maybe the only Jesus people see in their whole lives. I don't ever want to be the one who people see and turn away from God. I want people to see me and turn to God. Do my actions lead people to say, "Wow, I want to be like that"? That is how we need to be living for Jesus. Even in our own household. Do our spouses and kids see Jesus in us or not?
That is a hard one because in our own homes we are our true selves. We are comfortable there and I know that personally I don't always do "what Jesus would do." I don't always talk like Jesus would talk. Although sometimes I talk like I was telling the moneychangers to get out of the temple of God. Not very nice. Of course, Jesus was yelling with righteous anger. I usually don't. I get more upset than I used to. I don't know if it is impatience or lack of godliness or seeing the things going on in this world that just make me so mad. And they carry over into my household. I am just being honest.
I want to be so like Jesus. I was created in His image and I want to portray that image to others, even in my own household. So, Lord, help me to do just that. Help me to honor You and live for You every moment of every day so that others see You in me. Amen.
So God created mankind in his own
image, in the image of God he created
them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
For a man indeed ought not to cover
his head, since he is the image and
glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.
1 Corinthians 11:7
And to put on the new self, created to be
like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:24
With the tongue we praise our Lord
and Father, and with it we curse human
beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.
James 3:9
So, we were created in His image and glory of God and like God in true righteousness and holiness and in God's likeness. Wow! That is something to live us to. But we can do the very best we can with His help to be like Him. And everyday we can get closer and closer to that goal. And with His help, all of us can do that.
Have an awesome day!
