WE BELONG TO GOD

Good morning, sweet readers!

It is so good to be back here telling you about what God is doing in my life, but also what He has laid on my heart to share with you. I never really noticed before I started writing this blog, that when I wake up in the morning, each day is different in my heart. I guess I mean my attitude. Some days I want to praise the Lord continually. Some days there is something eating at me or making me feel down. And sometimes it is the dreams that we dream that set that attitude in motion. Whether sweet dreams, nightmares, or no dreams, at least that you can remember. But through it all, we belong to God.

Last night I had a nightmare. It was sort of an NCIS type of dream, well, nightmare.  Somewhere in there my husband got shot in the shoulder. Now he seemed to be okay but I couldn't get to him to find out for sure. It was like I could see him but couldn't get within touching range. I finally woke up. Do you ever have dreams like that? I don't very often but when I do, I wake up with kind of an anxious attitude. I wonder why!

It seems as though I have dreams that I remember when I eat certain foods, especially acidy tomato sauces and spicy, like chili or spaghetti. Why that happens, I have no clue but God does. He created our bodies to work the way that they do. And He made us in His image. And we belong to Him!

So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

It was sin that came into the world, through Adam and Eve, that changed every thing. Up to the sin point everything was perfect. We eat things now that are pleasing to the eye and palette, but not really pleasing for the body. And we can see the results of years and years of that with the diseases that we have now days. Of course, some of that is environmental. But what I am saying is that everything was perfect before that first sin and from then on it has been a down hill spiral and it certainly has not been over night.

So, in the world we live in we must take care of our bodies like never before because they belong to God.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters,
in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies
as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—
this is your true and proper worship.
Romans 12:1

Do you not know that your bodies are
temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,
whom you have received from God? You are
not your own; you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your bodies.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart
and with the full assurance that faith brings,
having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from
a guilty conscience and having our
bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:22

Enjoy this song by John Flaherty: We Belong to God

We need to offer our bodies to God, honor Him with our bodies, and draw near to God and let Him wash our bodies. My prayer is that we would all try to do that, and I know that God would be pleased.

Have an awesome day!

Les
