COMMITMENT

Good morning to you!

My friend posted this picture on Facebook. I love it!

Anyway, can we do that? Can we dedicate our lives to God this year? Are we willing to go that far? How far is it?

It says in the Bible verse that if we do that, our plans will succeed. Are we really willing to totally trust God on that? Well, if He said it, then He will do it, as long as our plans line up with His will. If our plans are something like going on a trip or getting a new job, if they are not God's will, then they may not happen or succeed. They could happen because God loves us and wants to give us the desires of our heart but then again He may not because it may not be His will for us at this time or ever.

From Let God Be True:
"Paul knew the truth of this proverb as well as any. He faced more difficulties at any one time than you could even imagine in a lifetime. But he said, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed" (II Cor 4:8-9). He had committed his works to the LORD.

What troubles you today? What faces you that distresses your mind? Commit your works unto the LORD, and He will establish your thoughts. Do them His way; do them unto Him; turn them over to Him in prayer; and trust Him for the results. He will take care of you immediately, by blessing you with contentment, peace, and assurance.

Our blessed Lord faced the ultimate challenge and difficulty in the horrifying work of our redemption on the cross of Calvary, but He committed Himself to the LORD (I Pet 2:23). He was heard, and an angel came and strengthened Him (Heb 5:7-10; Luke 22:43). You should also, doing well in obedience, commit the keeping of your soul to your faithful Creator (I Pet 4:19). The same servants will minister unto you (Ps 34:7; Heb 1:13-14).

You commit your works unto the LORD by doing everything His way. You commit your works unto the LORD by doing them unto Him. You commit your works unto the LORD by turning them over to Him. You commit your works unto the LORD by trusting Him for the results."

How awesome is that! Let us be obedient, commit the keeping of our soul to God, and He will minister to us through His angels. What a promise He gives us!

So, let's trust God to do what He says. Shall we do our part so He can do His part?

Have a blessed and wonderful day committing ourselves to HIM!

Les
