Romans 15:13
Lord,
As a new year begins, we come to You and ask for Your blessing. We pray that you would give us joy to fill our days, peace to fill our hearts, and love to fill our lives. Thank You for the plans You have for us in this new year. We wait in anticipation to see all You will do! Please help us to be more diligent in our love and relationship with you, to love you more, to pray and praise you more, to worship you more. Let our lives by a sacrifice unto you. May your divine protection be upon us, and may you supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. May we love and care for others more in this new year.
In Jesus name, Amen!

I know the plans I have for you,"
declares the Lord, "plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future."

29:11
Wow!
It is 2013. How can it be? It is amazing how 2012 and the previous
years have flown by. I guess, time flies when you are having fun, so
they say.
We went to bed about 11:30 PM on New Years Eve! That is just like us to try to stay up and then not quite make it until the new year. I was so tired. After not doing much for several days because of my sore back, and then going out to do a little shopping, food and what have you, and then we went to a New Year's open house yesterday (with an hour and 15 minute drive). It was really fun, seeing friends, meeting new people, good food and a pretty drive. You know God is so great and greatly to be praised. What an awesome God He is!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation
has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
2 Corinthians 5:17
So, in our lives the old things that are not so good, maybe, should be gone, and the new things should begin with the new year. That all sounds good in theory but it is hard to do. Actually, this verse is talking about receiving Christ as your savior, then you are a new creation and the new is here in your life and the old is gone. But I am talking about making this new year a new start.
If 2012 was not so good for us, then we can work at doing our part with Jesus as we should be, and making 2013 a better year. If 2012 was a great year for us, then we can work at making 2013 an even greater year. It is our choice. We can try harder or not.
I plan to try harder. I want to be a better Christian woman, a better wife, a better mother and grandmother, a better sister and daughter, and a better friend. But I can only do those things with God's help. And as is my usual, I will make mistakes. I try so hard and sometimes trying harder makes me worse and I don't do so good.
But I will spend more time with Jesus, study His Word more, eat better and exercise more. Remember, our bodies are God's temple. As Christians, He lives in us and so we need to give Him a great home to live in. Now, yes He does live in Heaven but Jesus lives in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. In other words, His Spirit lives in us. How are we going to make our hearts and lives a better place for Him?
So, in this new year of 2013, I challenge you to do as I am. And God will reward us with His blessings in the process.
Thanking God for you and praying your new year is blessed in every way.
“‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you; the Lord make
and keep you; the Lord make
his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
and give you peace.”’
Numbers 6:24-26
