THE MYSTERIES OF GOD

Good morning on this wonderful Saturday!

I slept in a little today until 7:45 instead of my usual 6:00 or so! God is so good! I have been getting up at 6 even when I didn't need to or when I went to bed late. So, it felt good. But then my back hurt more when I woke up. I know I did a little too much yesterday. But life goes on and I have things to do. Do you know that because I hurt my back and it hurt to move, my Christmas tree and decorations are still up! Ugh! Now I love Christmas and enjoy my decorations but this is really long enough. Maybe today I can get my husband to get out the many, many Christmas boxes so that I can slowly start putting it away without hurting my back more. That would be good!

Today was my Mom's birthday! She passed away in November of 2005 after having had several strokes. I really do miss her. I hadn't lived near her since 1984 and that was only for a hair over 2 years. Then we lived next door to her and my step-father. And other than at that time, we hadn't lived near each other since I graduated from high school. When I say we hadn't lived near each other I mean from several hours apart to 4 days apart during all that time, which is about 40 years. When our children were growing up, the kids and I would travel to see them, about a 9 hour drive, each summer and stay for a week or so. Those were wonderful, fun days. It was always so much fun to spend time with them. Of course, the next time I can spend with her is in heaven. Will she know who I am? Will I know her as my mother?

Those kinds of things are some of the mysteries of God. Things about God that we probably won't ever know or maybe in heaven God will reveal them to us. To me, that is what makes God so real. There are mysteries about Him the Bible says. If there are mysteries about the people we know, why can't there be mysteries about God. We don't know every detail about our spouses or friends or even every family member. I guess it would be nice to know every little thing about people but then again maybe not. But it is a good idea to study the scriptures to know the mysteries of God.

The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is the greatest
of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries,
for you have been able to reveal this secret.”
Daniel 2:47

So look at Apollos and me as mere servants of Christ who have been put in charge of explaining God’s mysteries.
1 Corinthians 4:1

He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
Matthew 13:11

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2

Jesus speaking-"He said, “The knowledge of the
secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you,
but to others I speak in parables, so that,
“‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.""
Luke 8:10

To them God has chosen to make known among the
Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is
Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom,
so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.
Colossians 1:27-28

So, God can reveal His mysteries to those who love and believe in Him if and when He chooses to and then maybe not. His Word does reveal some of those things to us but not everything. Studying His Word is so important so that those mysteries of God can be revealed to us. We have something awesome to look forward to when we get to heaven in learning the mysteries we haven't already learned.

And  you know what? I am ready! Are you? Have you given your life to Christ? Have you completely surrendered to Him? If you have not, it's time. Today is the day of salvation. If you need answers about salvation, go to this website. It should have all the information you need to help you make the decision and pray.

Have an awesome and blessed day!
